So the last week or so I've had the parking sensors randomly shut themselves off while driving and it wont let you turn them back on. Restarting the truck seems to fix it. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be an issue with the sensors being dirty or more likely is it something I need to have service on? Thanks.

ya goes back 2 generations, comes free of charge on most GM vehicles, Ive been dealing with it on my 2008.  There is a box they plug into under the spare tire corrosion or just goes bad.

That's awesome on a brand new truck. Would love one week without something malfunctioning.

I though mine was just a one off issue, but it isn't.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; about 50/50 right now.  And at times, the light on my park assist button will go crazy for about 10 seconds flashing in a random pattern.  Think it might be a loose connection somewhere.  Dreading taking it in.  Guess I need to because I got the code for the famous brake malfunction at 500 miles.  Not quite 4,000 yet.

That sucks for anyone relying on the sensor to judge distance expecting it to alert you - then you bump into something. This is exactly why I’ve been looking for a Trail Boss LT without the safety package that the dealerships love to order.

Yeah I've never had so many different little problems so consistently with any vehicle I've ever owned as I do this one. Was originally planning on keeping it for a long time, doubt I will anymore, just getting tired of there always being something malfunctioning even if I really want to love this truck.

Agree. First I had the broken valve springs, now the brake system failure and parking sensors working when they want. First issue fixed and supposedly a software update was supposed to fix the last two. Well my parking sensors still work when they want, truck clean too, nothing dirty blocking the sensors. I hate Tundras and Fords. I’ve always been a GM guy band I love my 6.2 Trail Boss but if I keep having these issues I may have to do to Ram. Not sure if that’s even a better move or not. My 70’ C10 has a leaky quadrajet carburetor and is still more reliable.

When I first got my ‘21, park assist would be off or turn off about half the time.  It would shut off when driving.  I was also having the WiFi issue also.  I was more worried about getting WiFi taken care of.  As time went on, the park assist started shutting off less and less.  It’s been a while since it has been off.

2021 Sierra 1500 AT4 Standard box

6k miles

My park assist turned off about 20 miles from my house. The light on the park assist button on the center console was off.  Arrived home and started to play with the vehicle settings in the center console and selected the collision settings.  Park assist was on the settings and turned it off and back on and then assist turned on with the center console turned back on.  So that seems to be a short term fix.  I’m going to continue to monitor it.  But small stuff like the truck telling me I’m on the wrong road even though I don’t have navigation on, is beginning to worry me.

I drove my 2021 LTZ tonight for the first time in light snow and the parking sensor light shut off. When I got home, I noticed that the sensors on the front bumper were covered with ice. After a couple hours in the garage, the ice was gone and the parking sensor light came back on.

Curious. Drove my 2019 Sierra to the landfill to drop some trash. Drop off is a paved area. Leaving the site, got the Park Assist Blocked message. Noticed the light on the switch was off. Drove on and the light on the switch came on. Short time later, it was off and the message came back. Here's the kicker, I could press the switch and get the park assist off message. Hit the switch again, and the off message would go away, and the blocked message came back on. The truck has been parked since last Thursday and I had just returned from a 2800 mile round trip the Saturday prior. All sensors are clean.

    • Google converting 98 4.3 spider injection to carburetor if all else fails.
    • My centre console USB ports haven’t been working and the one in the glovebox is starting to act up. When I plug my phone into the cord the radio will go black and stop playing, and the CarPlay is inconsistent.   I checked the fuses and they were fine. I changed the USB port out and still nothing. Hoping for some advice on what I should be looking at.
    • The truck is a 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer, 4.3 VIN "W" engine. :cracks knuckles:   On a whim - because I needed a headache - this truck was for sale so I stopped to take a look. Doesn't run. Well, it does, but barely. Long crank, choppy idle, bad misfire(s), it REEKS of fuel. I can DO this..I'm thinking. Diamond in the rough. One owner until last year. A young guy is selling it, he bought it 6 months ago. It stranded him more than once, he's got a newborn. It was in the shop 10 days ago and he "thinks" they said it needs a new fuel injection system. He can't put any more money into it, needs it gone. I was thinking of upgrading my Macbook, which is a total want, not a need. For less than the price of a new laptop I can have fun for months tinkering on this truck and enjoying it. I'm taking this truck home. The guy was beyond thrilled, his wife was there, she thanked me profusely, I could tell they were hurting. They seemed like good people in a bind.   Some parts, a wash, maybe a set of tires, and I can have a few months of fun and then turn it for beer money (or the next project).   Sure enough, there's a work order from a shop last week in the INCHES of paperwork on this truck dating back to when the first owner bought it. They put a new distributor in it, fuel injection work describes basically opening the plenum and putting it back together. He said he couldn't afford any more work so he had them button it up and that's when he put it up for sale.   I'm not well versed in 4.3. I did discover 1995 uses the 1992-1995 SCPI "Spider" injector which is riddled with issues from splitting lines, clogged or cracked poppet valves and plastic spider legs that crumble over time. Cool. I'll just order me a ne---. Oh, the auto parts store doesn't have it? Rock Auto doesn't have it. eBay? $$$$$$ for used. These are UNAVAILABLE period end of story unless you know "a guy" who's still got one in a box somewhere.   Can't upgrade to the '96-'04 injector, it's a different plenum, wiring/pinout and sensor config.   There are a few kinda "know a guy" -guy rebuild services for these injectors out there for about $350. Okay, Okay... I'd like to know if anyone has used them? Anyone got a lead on these crappy 92-95 spiders?   I also don't want to send MY spider to Narnia and back without knowing if that's truly the problem. I guess I'll need to pull apart the plenum and do some digging.   I was also thrown for a loop. This 1995 model year truck has an OBD-II connector. The interface is decidedly not OBD-II. I can read and reset trouble codes and view live data, but there's not a lot of data. Like misfire count and on what cylinder, that's not there. It's OBD-1.5.   Nothing is ever easy. Now it makes sense why this guy wanted to disappear this thing for cheap. I'm guessing the shop told him the injector is toast, the part is unobtainable and they're not going to sort sending the thing to a rando offering rebuild service on craigslist, and the kid likely can't be without a working car for 3 weeks even if they'd facilitate that.   Experience with these early SCPI's? Stories? Things to check? Sympathy? (..Nah...)   This can sit until I sort it. But I haven't had a problem with a vehicle I couldn't easily solve in a long time.
