Adding GM Remote Start

2020 Sierra HD work truck. The one key feature it doesn't have, and I want, is remote start. Can the GM remote start be added after delivery (by the local GM dealer)?  What else would be changed/added/removed from the existing truck? I don't see it as an accessory option on the accessories website. Is it a costly project (assuming it can be done)?

Talk to your dealer and find out.  And then double check at another dealer.  Your truck will likely need new software to do the remote start, and GM may or may not permit the dealer to add the necessary software to the truck to make it work, even if you buy all the necessary hardware (for example, GM doesn't let you add the oem trailer brake controller after the vehicle is made).

You have to have a key fob from the factory to add the factory remote start.  If your truck was built without option code AQQ remote keyless entry, you are SOL.

I was gonna say you probably need a new key FOB as well.....since that's what communicates with the truck to start it

 

why do you want remote start?......I have it but don't use it just curious if there is reason I am not thinking of
