Cabin Fever. I know I got it.

I need a month+ off to chill out, maybe do some fishing and hunting. Too bad I got a CC though, can't use my truck that way.

[emoji23] Too bad trade value is crap on it too, can't even get much towards a double cab.

It is not your place to question why someone is buying a truck to haul noting but people.  Perhaps they simply WANT a truck.  That is not at all the issue.

My two previous trucks were both DCs.  I currently own a CC but I haven't always.

Pre 2010 is 10 years ago, not 5-7.

"The same mistake others have made" from your point of view based on what you think they need.  Get over yourself.

Should have said both your previous two trucks were DC's off the rip. No wonder you are so defensive over your CC. Ok look at 4wd 2013 LTZ, the point remains. Just pointing out the obvious here.

I’m not defensive of my purchase of a CC over a DC. I could have bought a DC if I wanted to and saved more money. And yes I do think CCs look better than DCs. That’s what drives me crazy about you. Is you think your opinion is the only one that matters. I like the looks of CCs better than DCs and sounds like the majority of people here do as well. You like the look of the DC more than the CC. You’re not wrong and we’re not wrong. People have different tastes and that’s ok.

If you run into a crazy person in the morning and not another one for the rest of the day. They’re the crazy person. If you run into crazy people all day long you’re the crazy person.

This can be applied in this thread quite well. Time for you to get a grip on reality.

Once again, don't mean to break up the circle jerk here guys but while some of this stuff is opinion there is really only one right answer. Nobody is going to look at the proportions on some of this stuff and disagree with what I am saying. But there are plenty of people who never gave a second thought to what I was saying and are going to defend their own decision making, given that they are now stuck with said truck. Psychology 101

I've always been judgmental, nothing to due with Coronavirus lol.

Double Cab's are fine superhighsierra, if that's what you want. Don't tell me how to use my damn truck. I use it weekly to haul lumber, landscaping ******, etc. I also put friends in it from time to time and take trips where they're more comfortable in that. It behooves us to have the bed for storage on those trips and the ability to tow the boat. I'll buy whatever the hell I want and I'm super happy with it. Just because I don't sleep in the bed of my truck 4 days a week doesn't mean it's not getting used.

I will. Let’s say a DC served all the purposes I need it too. (Which it doesn’t) But lets just say it does. I would still buy the CC because I think the DC doesn’t look as good or symmetrical with the doors not being the same size.

But unlike you I can realize that’s my opinion and accept that other people will have different opinions and not tell people how dumb they are for not having my same tastes and opinions.

Gotta love how the guy doubles down on the troll. I bet he doesn't even have a double cab. Or friends, which explains the camping alone and never hauling people I guess.

My most recent trucks are in my signature.  All you have to do is read and comprehend.

Identical trucks except for the cab size.  I'll save you the work of clicking on the links.  The CC has a higher trade in and resale value.  About 11% higher.

Dude you instead of posting trucks that were actually for sale you went to NADAGuides. GTFOH. That should tell you all you need to know about the strength of your argument.

It sure does.  Rock solid.  My way is actually an apples to apples comparison.  You have no way of knowing exactly what options each vehicle you are looking at has on it.  I do.  With 100% certainty.

Let's do it your way on autotrader.com.  I'm sure you will have some sort of issue with autotrader but here goes.

2013 CC LTZ 4wd <100k miles within 500 miles of my zip code

$17,995 - $27,890 - 48 trucks available

2013 EC LTZ 4wd <100k miles within 500 miles of my zip code

$17,198 - $25,283 - 8 trucks available

The EC is 5% - 10% cheaper.  NADA said 11%.    You have 6x as many trucks to choose from in the CC.  Guess which truck sold more and which holds its value better.

You do not have a leg to stand on buddy.  I can keep proving you wrong all damn day or you can just STFU and go away.

Post trucks for sale. The market is a lot stronger for DC's that have a few miles on them and it's not debatable. Two door Tahoes and double Cab Chevy's/GM's carry a lot more resale value. Done talking in circles buds. If you don't get it not sure what to tell you...

Since reading is not your strong suit, post actual trucks for sale, not he estimated values. It's like arguing with a bag of potato's around here.

I fully understand why everyone is driving a crew cab now.

Comprehension is not your strong suit.  Every single truck on autotrader is FOR SALE!  It is not like nada, kbb or edmunds.

Drives and runs fine.

I am not in any hurry.

Great job going way off topic and scaring off OP, guys.

You say your truck runs fine, and you're not in a hurry.  I'm of the mindset that if you're happy with what you have, why spend the money on something that might be a bit more comfortable, but really accomplishes the same thing?  Save your money for when your existing truck no longer meets your needs.  They'll keep making trucks, and there'll always be discounts.

And for what it's worth, extended cabs always look better than crew cabs.

    • First of all sorry, I know there are a ton of transmission temperature threads...   My truck is a 2025 LZ0 High (10l89 10-speed) High Country with NHT max trailering package. The NHT package is supposed to have "enhanced cooling."   Normally the trans temp sits around 200. It seems like with any real stress it quickly jumps into the 220s (for example climbing a grade unloaded at lower speeds). I haven't towed much with this truck, but I'm concerned if it gets this hot unloaded.    I've tried a few different things to keep the temps down (tow/haul mode, sport mode, low range when that makes sense) and nothing seems to affect it.    I'm curious if others are the same behavior or if anyone has found techniques to keep the temps down. It seems like it just can't handle reduced airflow at lower speeds, even with relatively light loading.    Thanks!
    • I'm at 105,000 miles on my baby Duramax. No issues yet. I hit 31 mpg's traveling through hilly terrain to a project in Colorado. I will buy another 3.0. I'm not concerned.
    • I'm glad you have 14,000 trouble free miles. Frankly though, that's a really low bar. A bare minimum of 80,000 trouble free miles as the norm (rare exceptions always exist) across the whole model year should be a starting point. Good maintenance habits should push these past the 100,000 mile mark with only the most minor of issues. Let's hope GM truly leveled up the quality game with these new engines and exploding engines under 50,000 miles are gone.
    • This is exactly the reason our EV has consumed so much of my driving. I don't want to fire up a cold diesel or gas engine just to drive 2 miles up to the store. It's arguably terrible for an engine. If I'm not driving at least 10 miles and don't need to do truck things, the truck stays parked.   Enter the EV. It's immediately heating or cooling the cabin as needed (heat pump). An engine doesn't need to warm up or be driven gently. I can tear off in it with ZERO guilt. Move the car 1/4 mile from store to store and not think "gee, I'm short-cycling a lukewarm engine".   It doesn't idle in a drive-through. Doesn't idle at stop lights. (OK, neither would the diesel, if I let stop-start have its way, but I don't).   Even moving it out of the garage to wash it... HA! It doesn't need to be started just to move 40 feet. I have cars that I will actually put in neutral and push (no start) in/out of the garage or shop if they absolutely HAVE to be moved. My nice Camaros.
