10 speed transmission fluid

My 10 speed had an o-ring fail and needs transmission fluid. The GM dealer has no Dexron ULV, but the Ford dealer across the street has Mercon ULV. Are they the same fluid? Both fluids recommended for each respective 10 speed.

It's a warranty claim, and it's the GM dealer who wants to use the Ford fluid. I will make sure they document that Mercon fluid was added in case anything happens down the road. I have 6 year bumper to bumper.

Given they aren't the same fluid, I would suggest not mixing them.  Your 6y B2B is almost over, and the dealer likely just wants you out the door as cheaply as possibly, with a good enough fix to get the truck out of the warranty period, not that he wants to fix your truck so it lasts as long as possible.

This truck is a 2020 with less than 150 miles. I just haven't updated my profile yet.

Hold up...that article is wrong.  They are comparing Dexron HP vs. Mercon ULV.  Those are indeed 2 different fluids, but the 10 speed DOES NOT use HP as the article states.  It uses Dexron ULV.
