I brought my new 2019 Silverado RST to the dealer because TPMS was saying service. I also told him about the transmission shudder at sLow speeds.  They said they couldn’t duplicate it. They claimed they have had the problem and on older trucks but not on the 2019.  I’m thinking this is BS.  Anyone had the problem on a 2019 with 8 speed?

I haven't had any shudder and I am over 12000 miles now. Daily driver and tow vehicle (open car trailer)

I do have the 1-2 slam every once in a while after it sits.

I had several issues with the transmission shifting when I first bought it but the dealer said "no problem found" and did a relearn and that cured most weird shifts.

The 8 speed feels great most of the time. No shudder out of mine, yet. no fluid change done yet, either.

For 2019 it all depends on when the truck was produced. I don't remember the exact date but if it was produced before March 1st 2019 (or something very close to that) it didn't have the updated fluid and could have the shudder.

When was the truck built?  There is a break point on the 2019 new body for shudder concern.  Typically you will get the shudder 25-80mph.  It can be quite noticeable too.

I’m having a bad shudder on my 2020 Sierra dually duramax with 10 speed. Delear feels it also and is worse in tow mode. However they say it’s something they never heard of. Trucks now at delear three days and they say could be weeks. Only 8000 miles on it!! Very aggravating!!!

ours started slipping and clunking months ago mainly cold first trip of the day 3-4 slips badly at slow take off cold.

last week put it in reverse backed up like 20 ft stopped for a second  then went to backup again it just sat there with transmission slipping away never moved for 30 seconds i put it park back to reverse and it finally moved again.and of course dealer cannot feel it replicate it or hear the rear end clunk like hell either real convenient

2019 LTZ here.  If I reverse any farther than lets say a parking spot, I lose power for a couple seconds when i put it in drive and then it studders bad. Took it to the dealer and they flushed the trans and put new fluid in it and stated it will go away in 500 miles.  Well it's been 2,000 miles and it still does it. Haven't taken it back to dealer yet.

2019 Sierra SLT 5.3L  8 speed - I had a shudder as well. Aggressive shifts at very low speed. Like coasting up to a stop sign and then pressing the gas pedal to speed up. Sometimes very aggressive. Took it in and they reprogrammed the transmission shift points (thats what they told me) and it is much better. Not totally gone but about 75% better than before.

Jay

Does anyone know why the fluid was changed and the fluid was changed from what to what? Thanks.

The original fluid was hydroscopic and the water in the fluid was causing the issues. GM is not the only manufacturer to have this issue.
