Hello,we are looking at a couple of k2xx trucks and were wondering what issues these trucks have.the trucks that im looking at have 6 Speeds so i know it these trucks will not have the issues with the transmission fluid like the A8's have, ive heard about the ac issues and the AFM/DOD issues,is there anything im missing thank you

Leaking 3rd brake lights, not mechanical but if unnoticed can get mold in the headliner

AFM Automatic Fuel Management has a long list going. Just got my 2018 and after driving it for a while acts up and doesnt run smooth like my 2006 Silverado. Some are putting plug in modules in to quit cutting out cylinders and running straight 8 cylinders all the time. I am thinking of doing this but will see.

Shane, you didn't mention what year(s) you were looking for. My advice, is to look at buying a "certified" used from a dealer. They will come with a "Bumper to Bumper" 12 month/12,000 mile warranty, just like a new truck warranty. I know some have had issues with their dealers honoring the warranty but I have not. I bought a '17 back in Feb. I didn't notice that the new style gas cap flap was broken when I tried it out. I drop by & showed it to them a month later & they fixed it under warranty. I also noticed later that the side steps were pitting. I talked to the dealer about this. At 1st they said it didn't cover it because it was "Dealer installed". However I pointed out that it was listed on the RPO & they replaced them under warranty. If I had bought this from a used car lot I wouldn't have any luck at getting them replace. Just my .02 cents worth. I noticed used '17's are coming off 3 year leases and are hitting the dealers about now. Most are under 30k miles.

I think it's been said that the 18's have the bugs all worked out. I have two of them and have not had a hiccup from either one.

Somebody Jinxed me!  I finally had major problem on my 2016SLT.  Low Pressure Fuel Pump...DEAD at 114K

Now that is probably close to 7000 gallons of fuel pumped through her in VERY HOT Conditions.  I have had other vehicles with crapped Fuel pumps in South West before so I am not pinning it on GM JUNK YET?

I had to give this one to the Mechanic because I just filled the tank and knew it was Fuel Pump immediately and the Dentist wanted me too....Along with major Road Trip planned.  So I had to swallow the 1,000 Bill knowing exactly what had failed and I have NO options other than get fixed ASAP can't sit on it.  Win some loose some I guess.....

Where does one begin? Vacuum pumps failing left and right. Air conditioning systems failing, condensers cracking, leaking where they mount,  a/c lines to compressor cracking and leaking. A/c vents in the dash not directing cold air to one side or the other, "vent actuators failing".  The a/c issues are so bad people are trying to get GM to do a recall on the different failures. Transmission failures, mainly the 8 speeds. The dreaded drivetrain vibration issues at speeds over 65. Engine failures in the upper end due to the way the AFM is designed to work. Personally on my truck I've had both the left and right seat cushion heaters fail, one door lock actuator failure and the a/c vents not working properly as described above. I did bypass the AFM with a Range device and love it staying in 8 cylinder. Trying to save the engine is my reasoning for it. I suppose all makes of trucks have their issues. My thing is if they know it's an issue they should take care of us who spend over 40-50k on a truck. Warranties they provide aren't long enough for spending that kind of money.

The ECM went out on mine, a couple weeks ago. Sat radio antenna leaked, fixed by dealer, leaked the next week. I siliconed it and the 3rd brake light. Vibration issues since new. New driveshaft, new axle shafts, new brake rotors, new tires, out of my pocket. Did it all at the same time, vibrations "mostly" gone. Rear seat rattles, still haven't fixed it, I just leave the seat up, and it doesn't rattle. Transmission shifts like ******. Even after a tune, it's better, but still ain't great... The factory paint suuuuuucks.

My old 2014 Silverado, had vibration issues, shifted like crap, antenna leaked. Dealer never fixed any of it. Several dealers...
