Codes in the Morning

Still no response from GM Support.

So i finally had my Autel with me when it happened again.

P0171 (lean on bank 1)

P219A (Fuel trim balance)

U0100 (Lost communication with ECM)

U0102 (Lost communication with Transfer case)

U0131 (Lost communication with Power steering module)

U0140 (Lost communication with BCM)

U0151 (Lost communication withInflatable restraint sensing and Diag module

B1325:03 (control module power circuit voltage)

U18AF (lost communication with telematics)

All happened at the same time, while trying to remote start.

Does anyone know what these could be?

when you get that many codes at start up, it is usually a weak battery

I ran to Autozone over the weekend and had the battery tested, the CCA was "good" but the battery percent was at 47%.

I went home, put it on a charger (good for AGM) and once it got to a full charge, ran back and the battery was at 55%, assuming after 6 years the battery is going bad. Need to call the dealer and see if my battery warranty i purchased when i got the truck is going to be hell to get covered.

I'd guarantee the "battery warranty" you have will want a failed or back to back failed test results to cover a replacement. Most likely with the GM dealer test equipment, the GR8 or DCBS GM battery testers that run a full diagnostics on the battery.

More than likely. I call multiple times to multiple dealers and apparently most of the service adviser are out due to being sick.

Do you think if i can remove it from the truck and bring it in or do i need to leave it in the truck? I would like to remove it so they do not scratch my truck while changing it.

i can reset the battery with my Autel.

i can reset the battery with my Autel.

I know for battery issues under GM warranty, dealer wants the vehicle with the battery in it. Same for replacement batteries if the dealer installed it.

Over the counter purchases you'd bring them the battery.

Battery warranty on factory installed that came with the truck when new is 3yrs or 36,000 miles. Now if you bought a new battery from GM say a 48 month battery then the warranty starts when the battery was installed. So if it's a battery that was in the truck when you bought it new in 2019 then it's out of warranty.

Sorry but that should be incorrect and i am waiting for a call back, when i purchased the vehicle (at my second uncles dealer), i purchased an extended warranty just for the battery for an extra $100 that will be for the life of the vehicle (as long as its still in my name/i bring it in).

I should of verified the full scope of this warranty prior to purchase. I may have to even pull the paper work and bring it to the dealer to get it covered.

You never said you purchased a warranty just for the battery now things are different warranty related. It should be covered and the battery must be in the truck when brought in as newdude said. If you bring just the battery in they don't know where that battery came from it could have came from another vehicle for all they know.

Got warranty info, https://foreverdealers.com/claims-terms/

Need to have it tested by the dealer and i can purchase on the same day (dates on test and receipt need to be the same). Will have it tested/ buy the new battery on Saturday. Will need to bring the Autel to program the new battery.

The new battery will be $254+tax and the warranty cover up to $250. so this new battery will cost me ~$30(if they honor the warranty).
