I picked up a set of the OEM black GMC letters for  a 2020 Sierra. The tailgate should be pretty simple, however my understanding for the front is that the entire grille needs to come off in order to swap them out. Anyone have or know of a good video tutorial out there for this, to save me some time and potential frustration?

TIA

No grill does not need to come off. There is a thread on here already on how to do this without grill removal.

if you plan to throw away the front emblems, pry off the red part of the letters with a little screw driver. You will break the little plastic mounting post for them.
Next you will see little slots of where the tabs that hold the silver part to the grill, stick a screw driver in there to release the tab.

to install - open hood and remove the wide plastic trim piece above the area of the radiator, one with vent slots. Push new emblem into place until it snaps. For areas you can not snap into place, I used the wooden end of a small hammer to provide pressure from the back side to help get them to click in.

Exactly what he said.  When i did mine, I went through the hassle of unclipping the emblems from behind the grill, but had I known about popping off the red portion, that would have made it much easier as I threw the stock red emblems in the trash.  Either way, you do not need to remove the grill.

I did the same as above, but did not need to remove the top radiator trim piece. My new letters simply snapped into place. This was on an SLE, so I don't know if its different on the other grilles.

Same... Pried off the red parts, then got the silver bases un-tabbed and then pressed in new ones.  Be sure to know each tab location and press along until you hear a positive "click" from each one.

On the rear, put down some masking tape top, bottom or both with sharpie dots where the letters start and stop.  Took me longer to heat up and fishing line off the red rear emblems and clean up the adhesive than it took to do anything else.

You guys are awesome, thank you! Did this last night and took me less than 10 minutes. Going to do the tailgate this week. Then level kit, wheels and tires, and we will see what’s next before my wife tells me to stop.
