The USB music player works very well, I really like it. I added some new songs to the device but when I plug it back into the truck it does not see them. Is there a way to rescan the USB flash drive so the radio can see the new songs? I searched and could not find it.

Thanks,

Settings in audio in personalization maybe?

. Reset Music Index: This allows the music index to be reset if
you are having difficulty accessing all of the media content on your device.
Touch Yes or No.

Did you try to use search to find the 'missing' tunes?

Sorry, I'm just guessing.

Yes I did a search and could not find them. Yes they are all MP3 format. I guess I'll change the volume name and see if that works.

Thanks for the reply's.

My experience isn't with the newer vehicles. When I added new songs to a flash drive I wiped the drive clean and reloaded all the songs. I also didn't use MP3. Probably doesn't matter though.

Okay, I think I figured it out. For some reason there seems to be a cap on how many files I can have on the root of the flash drive. So I just created a folder, then put all the songs in there and they are all recognized and play. Go figure. I know the max amount of files for an NTFS root is 512 but I only had a couple of hundred in there, no where near 512. So I'm stumped. Any of you guys have hundreds or thousands of music files in the root of your flash drive? I have that mini sandisk cruzer fit 64GB.

Thanks for everybody's help and suggestions.

Not a flash drive, but on my cell phone I have over 2,100 songs. My truck has no problems reading and playing them when I'm not using Android Auto.
