Newbie here from Kansas City.  I've owned a handful of Chevy HD diesel trucks over the years.  Looking to get a 1/2 ton AT4 diesel.  Finally found one that has the options I want.  Price is not the greatest at 1,700 over invoice less the factory 6k incentive and the teacher discount.  I saw this morning that GMC extended the 6k in incentives on Sierra 1500s to 9-8-20.  Chevy extended their 5k in incentives on the Silverado 1500s to 9-30-20.  Now I understand there are probably a lot more Chevys out there but I don't understand the Sierras only being extended for six additional business days.

I'm having a hard time swallowing 55k for a 1/2 ton truck.  But I need a truck.

Anyone know whether the details and pricing on the 2021 Sierras are coming on 9-9-20?

I don't keep vehicles past the 3 year bumper to bumper and am worried the half ton diesel resale will be terrible compared to the 3/4 ton diesels I am used to.

You’re in KC. Have you shopped LauraGMC near St Louis or Howard Bentley in AL?  You’re close enough to go there or both will deliver. Their pricing is much better than you’re being quoted. And they probably have 400 Sierra 1500's from which to choose.

Supply and demand.  $55k for an AT4 is in the ballpark. These damn things have gotten expensive!

Local GMC dealer has only 2 left, one a 2019 reg cab work truck and the other a 2020 cc SLE.  Local dealer salesman told me they have doz's of 21 models on order but production of 2021 does not start till 9/14.  They have two 2020 Silverados in transit.

Inventory is thin around here too, but most dealers have had some trucks start showing up in the last month.
