Discolored center console

Has anybody ever experienced this?

 

I took my truck to cleaned at a local car wash. While there, the attendant sprayed something on the center console. Whatever was sprayed caused the center console to discolor. Any suggestions on what happened?

Im gonna take a guess and say it was some sort of disinfectant or sanitizer. That would definitely cause discoloration if it had bleach or something similar. I could be wrong, but that's my guess

I would take it back and have a quote from the dealer to replace the center console at the ready.

 

You cannot use disinfectant on leather or plastics because it stripes the oil that protects it (dries it out).

Good luck with that, most car wash places have signs that state they are responsible for essentially nothing. Worth a try but they will most likely hide behind that sign.

Might start with the carwash and find out what they used. 

 

They may know what was used / why it happened and might even have a solution. 

 

 

I'm gonna guess your's isn't the only one.
