I finally decided to pick up an S&B intake. Never tried their brand and they've gotten great reviews across this Forum. A couple of notes for people who are thinking about buying:

- I got on their site this morning and saw they were in stock. Great news! Except, they aren't. I called to double-check and their system automatically updates the website when they arrive but they have to manually apply them to existing orders. So don't pay any mind to what the site says about their stock levels.

- They also said the lead time is shorter than it has been. He said they're running about 2-3 weeks behind right now. Not too bad and better than 1-2 months like before.

I waited the 2 months....

Headed out to my parents' garage (large enough to stuff the truck in.. mine isn't)

Got 1/2 mile out and the engine blew a spring and took the whole motor out

Plan on trying again this weekend

I had to wait over 2 months back in June but it finally came late August and I love it. Worth the money to me. It’s a great price, flows lots of air, and sounds good too.

I'm hooking up my Viofo dash* cam today so will be doing a before/after on sound (stock exhaust).  I've heard some say it sounds great and others say there was no difference.  I know in the past, CAIs have added a ton of intake noise so hoping that's the case.

Side note:  Saw you put a "confused" emoji.  Thread on that

Gotcha Sir!  I read over your thread. Glad GM took care of you. Enjoy your new 6.2L and CAI intake.

You guys.

I ordered my S&B intake on Friday.

It shipped tonight. I have a tracking number. This is not a drill.

If you've been thinking about buying, now might be the time!

Um...if you install this intake with the intake cover off. It is loud. There is no question about that!

The filter cone is as big as a small trash can and sounds great at full throttle when it's sucking in air. I've had mine for about 10k and It's easily my favorite mod...makes driving so much fun. I have it paired to a AFE Apollo GT muffler and am very happy with the overall sound and throttle response.

It's worth the wait!

Put mine on and wowzas.. yeah, it's night and day.  Only time I am a bit annoyed is at light throttle it will sometimes "hunt" between that quiet intake and "let's rock"

I ordered one yesterday and it shipped out that night. Their website shows the dry filter kit still in stock if you want to order one. May get lucky.

Anyone put the 2019-2020 gas intake kit on a 2021? Any compatibility issues?

I bought one used but it was missing the fuel line hose and quick connectors so I called S&B. Can’t wait for delivery. Hopefully it warms up just a little so my fingers don’t freeze during install.

There are no changes between 2020 and 2021 as far as I know.  Should be all set to go

Would you mind taking a quick video inside on say, a highway where you're maintaining speed?  Maybe a quick "drive by"  I ❤️ all the guys taking video with the camera 3" from the exhaust pipe but it's not really something anyone will ever experience in real-life

Well... it's installed. Man, what a NOISE! I had my foot in the gas all the way home, grinning ear to ear. The intake combined with my Corsa catback makes for a fun truck. Nothing this large should be this fun. If you're on the fence about getting one, don't be.

Also, I committed the greatest internet sin and forgot to take a picture. I'll be sure to get one soon.

Did you leave the side open or closed?

I put the S&B cover on the side but I left the top holes open. There didn't appear to be a way to close those.

    • Not sure about DFM tech but i know there's a stop/start deactivation button.
    • I could be interested if they axed cylinder deactivation and at least have a button for stop start. I’m sure the HP numbers will be higher. I would want a longer warranty to help build confidence. I’m a less is more guy as I get older. A V-8 work truck model would be my choice. I know a few outfitters for custom additions I prefer.
    • It's official. GMC pulled the covers off the next-gen 2027 Sierra 1500, and we got the first official look. Full breakdown here: https://www.gm-trucks.com/next-gen-2027-gmc-sierra-1500-v8-trim-changes/   The quick hits: SLE and SLT are dead. The new core retail trim is just called "Elevation". Two new V8s, a 5.7L and a 6.6L built with high-performance Corvette architecture roots. No horsepower or torque numbers yet. The 2.7 TurboMax finally ditches the old gearbox and gets the 10-speed automatic. AT4X moves to larger standard 35-inch tires with front and rear e-lockers, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and heavy-duty Jounce Control Dampers. Over 60 inches of combined display on Denali Ultimate and AT4X, complete with a motorized articulating center screen and an adaptive passenger screen. Seven simplified trims across the entire model line to clean up ordering confusion.   So let's get into it: New 5.7L and 6.6L gas V8s with custom active exhaust tuning and a Corvette connection. Is this the exact engine lineup half-ton traditionalists have been begging for? Purging the iconic SLE and SLT names after all these years to lean entirely on Elevation as the high-volume core. Bold move, or a mistake? That motorized articulating 16.3-inch screen that slides up to reveal a hidden dashboard vault. Awesome mechanical theater, or does it make you nervous about long-term durability? Physically lowering the headlamps in the front fascia to improve road courtesy and stop blinding oncoming traffic. Smart real-world engineering, or does it hurt the truck's aggressive stance? What trim are you putting your name down for on day one? Drop your first impressions below.
    • My overnight hospital stay turned into five.  I developed a post operative fever and an erratic  heart rate.  A blood clot in the lungs was the culprit.  This is apparently a common post surgical complication and easily remedied.   I was the youngest in a four bed ward and a Doctor with a Geriatric specialization was in charge of my care.  All of the nurses were good and some were outstanding at dealing with old people.  It was very evident that my age triggered a different level of care!  My advice to any senior going for a hospital stay is to have a trusted family member advocate visible.  If not, you will still be well cared for, but you may discover that your voice  isn't as strong as it once was!
