why are the 3500hd reg cab work trucks impossible to find

i am trying to buy one for my new work vehicle and the company i work for is wanting to buy 14 trucks and all the gm dealers in a thousand miles are not helpful they are blowing us off like we are walking into or calling a dodge dealership asking for a gmc truck and we were told they will not order any trucks either it seems like gm got out of the 3500hd reg cab business

From what I understand regular cab HD's are constrained for the balance of the model year.  HD crew cab production is being prioritized.  Demand is off the charts and Covid is causing production delays.  2022 ordering will start early, probably won't see many regular cabs until after 2022 production begins.  Oshawa coming on line will help.

I'm sure it has something to do with making more money on the CC higher trims .

Demand and covid are the reasons here.  We have to reduce some complexity to help the suppliers.  Its easier for them to make more of fewer variants than to spend time changing a bunch of times for a lot of variants.
