Hey All,

was looking at a 14 crew cab 4x4 with 6.2L, 3.42 gears.  GM Towing Guide shows it is 9,500 pounds.

The same in 15 is 9,200 pounds.

The same in 16 is 11,700 pounds.

Is these #'s Correct?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 11,700#s is with the MAX towing package & the 9500/9200 is with out it.

The 2014 CC Short Box 4x4 as you first describe says 9,500 pounds in the owner's manual.  Just as you wrote.  Right below that in the owner's manual, same configuration with 3.73 gears (NHT Package) it is 11,800 pounds.

The NHT package results in a higher GVWR and GCWR, higher capacities for the front and rear suspensions and springs, more leaves in the rear spring packs and 3.73 gears.

If you can find one not all used up, get it!

Keep in mind that GM didn't start certifying to SAE J2807 until Ford committed to doing so when they rolled out the new F-150 in 2015.  The 2014 used a different method to determine towing limits, which often gave number about 300 or 400 lbs higher.

A 2014 vs. 2015 with same body/driveline would most likely have the same ratings under J2807.

Thank You Rav3, Swathdiver, Salsa De Pina.  Makes sence with Max Tow Package.  I will certainly try to find one with 6.2L with 3.73 gears Max Tow Package.

You are correct.  The 8 speed was introduced on the '15 with the 6.2.
