As we all know our trucks only hold 24 gallons of fuel and that can lead some range anxiety, especially when venturing into unknown territory. As a safeguard I bought a 3.5gal Risk Racing fuel can and mounted it in the rear bedside pocket with a strap. It fits perfectly and doesn't interfere with loading other items in the bed.

I have something similar planned.  I'm going with the Valhalla Offroad MOLLE side panels and mounting Rotopack fuel cans in that area.  Definitely agree with fuel range concerns when offroad, but what vehicle owner isn't?

You will only be able to fit 1 gallon cans on the panels

Good engineering is finding the right hammer to pound a square peg into a round hole.  Hold my beer.  After all, I got a Retrax bed cover to fit with the GM Accessories sport bar installed.  Neither are mounted in a way that differs from their installation instructions.

Already tried and failed with a 2 gal rotopax.  You will have to use 1.75 gal or smaller rotopax because the 2 gal wont fit with the MAPS panels unless you use multiple mount extensions and it sticks out into the bed waaaay to far.  Rotopax also has the cylindrical tubing canisters that would fit but they are stupid a$$ expensive.

The bolded part smells like hope, and I haven't even tried yet.  Thanks for the insight.

Would love to do a rack and RTT but for how often I’d use it probably isn’t the choice for me as I need to take it off and store (at least the tent) for daily use.  May have to DIY something REAL fancy! Lol  love seein what y’all are doing though !

Hey Guys! I was excited to see this thread. I had a camper I pulled behind my offroad rig and decided to downsize a bit. This is what I have so far. I pull the tent off so I can mount my Kayaks on top. In the future they will be mounted inside the rack with the tent on top while being able to see out the middle back window.

I have three optimas in the rear with an inverter. I bought a hog crate to put in the kennel for our new pup. When I removed it from the kennel, I noticed the slots looked really close to the Molle's. So I cut it up and installed it around the drivers side wheel hump. Works pretty good and saved me about 500 bucks. LOL

I'm looking for a video or something on how to mount a rack to the roof ditches under that plastic strip for some solar panels. If anyone has done this or saw how to, please share.

Looks Great!  Its nice to see others modding their T1's since their is such a small market for it in off road recreation right now.  Hopefully that changes soon though since the rest of that market segment is booming.  Unfortunately, I haven't seen or built anything regarding mounted solar panels on the bed rails, but I do find myself searching Tacoma forums for solutions to many things :)

What's running through the rubber hose that is mounted upwards, and to the right, of the interior bed light?

It's an power cord for my LED bar and then later an AC unit for the window of my RTT. That extruded aluminum is nice to work with and very sturdy when mounted correctly. I added tape to the led as a type of diffuser.

Not enough dirt.  I can still see the truck in the picture.

That’s the first day, I think the second day might have enough dirt but haven’t looked at those photos yet haha
