Since its an overlanding topic, I did a little driving and wound up camping inside of Sam Houston National Forest with some buddies this past friday evening.  I thought I was pretty careful but I still managed to give "Hank" a few truck length pin-stripes.  It was worth it though, I needed the time and distance from society.  :)

Same thing happened to me last time I went offroading.  If you'd like my shopping list of things to get so you can remove those pin stripes just let me know.  All you need is a power drill.

I might take you up on that.  The Meguires Scratch X2.0 has taken care of most of my issues but if it doesn't I'll give you a hollar since I hate trying to guess on products.

I've been using 3M.  It has worked very well for me.  My last trip pin striped both side of my truck from headlight to tail light.  Path had a rock wall on one side, a drop on the other, and overgrown bushes on both sides in the same location.  No way to go around, so through it I went.

Haha, that SUX.  Nothing worse than hearing that "screeeeeeeeeetch" and knowing there isn't a darn thing you can do but keep going...UGH!

I installed a Prinsu Universal Topper Roof Rack on my Snugtop truckbed topper last week. Mounts great on the rhino rack rails the snugtop dealer put on. Very sturdy. Here's a video I took showing what it looks like.

I'm looking to mount an awning, fishing rod holder, kayak, and maybe a yakima skybox or similar. Also to carry extra diesel and recovery tracks. Might not all fit, so might have to get another rack over the cab.

That's pretty darn nice!  What awnings are you considering or have you started looking that far ahead yet?  An awning and winch plate are my next mods assuming Ill ever get a break from work.

I like it because it's very low profile. No wind noise from inside the cab with it empty.

I pre-purchased the Overland Pro's Wraptor 6k 270 degree awning. They're backordered right now. I like this one because it can stand alone in non-windy conditions and I can set up and tear down by myself. They have a 270 degree 4k that's the normal 270 degree awning, the 6k has an extra piece that unfolds towards the front of the vehicle. I figured this would help cover more usable real estate by the doors since our trucks are long compared to 4runners/wranglers etc. The con is that it is heavy at 80 lb.

Also the prinsu racks require a special awning mounting brackets that have a relief cut for side plate of the rack system. They sell their own in pairs, but for 80lb. awning, I probably will buy 2 sets of brackets.

Also, can't tell what engine you have, but I haven't found a winch plate or bumper replacement for the diesel engine that works. I emailed Fabfours about it and they said the extra intercooler for the diesel engine sits lower than the gas and when they put the winch plate in, the computer threw some fault codes about lack of airflow/cooling.

I have a 5.3 and will be fab'ing my own winch plate when I get the time.  Unfortunately, nobody makes a hidden winch plate kit for our vehicles yet, regardless of engine type.

I haven't looked at theirs yet, I'll check out the 6k as I would like to have a stand alone in fair conditions as well.  Thanks !

Overland Adventure 2021 recap. Just shy of 4000 miles, 8 states, 9 days, and no hotels.

I upgraded my front suspension to Bilstein 6112's a week before I left. The 5160's were on backorder and never arrived. I also installed my Auxbeam 8 gang switch to control the lights and 12v accessory plug in the bed. I also installed a Midland MXT275 GMRS radio on a dedicated 12V socket in the cab.

My Falken Wildpeak AT3W's (295/75R18) arrived on Thursday and I had them mounted on Friday. I brought them home and installed them an hour before I hit the road. I ended up buying a new OE wheel and full size spare to match the other 4 that luckily fit in the stock spare location.

I had no problems, breakdowns, or other issues. The air filter was dirty after 3 days of Utah dust and I managed to get home with 8% oil life remaining. I averaged around 15mpg on the interstate and 17.5 in the mountains.

It was a great trip and I would do it again but give myself more time to explore instead of hitting destinations each day.
