The GM one isn't approved yet for 2021 unless it was ordered and factory installed. Dealers cant put them on yet so they wont sell them right now.

Only for 2021?  I have it on my 2020.  I did the install myself (except the tune that was done by the dealership).  It came with a sticker I had to place under the hood to prove CARB compliance.  Seems strange it would be good one year, but not the next, and nothing changed.

Sounds like it’s only for 2021s right now. If it’s ordered and factory installed and delivered that way its fine, it’s just the dealer installed ones after purchase. 2019 and 2020 have CARB approval so not an issue. It sounds like it’s in process for 2021s so just a matter of time before it will be OK for a dealer to add on afterwards. Realistically you could probably install it anyway as no other CAI comes with a tune but those also advertise as also not being CARB client. I’m sure the CARB approval comes with some minor adjustments to AF ratios with the tune which is where the testing comes in and the delay in releasing it. I put intake and exhaust on almost everything I buy and never get things tuned unless it’s an OEM option.

I just recently found out someone online found  part number 84789802 is CARB approved with an EO number from GM directly which includes an ECU flash in part of your part purchase done by the dealer.  Still searching for verification and I did ask the online Youtuber who posted the video where I can find it.

I've been scouring the net and nothing for the past 6 months.  Hopefully he's right.... Repost/reply if someone else in the thread locates or finds it online.  I will continue my search.

Aside from that.... Its the K&N 57 Series OEM Performance Air Intakes 57-3108

Regarding CARB compliance, what's the big deal?  The current test in California is really nothing more than looking for a CEL light.  At least, that's how it was for my test in October, so please correct me if I'm wrong.  I was in and out in a matter of minutes.  Iirc, the guy hooked up an OBD2 scanner, and that was it.  Gave me a printout showing I passed, which I mailed to my home state to prove compliance.  I live in San Diego, but a Utah resident.  I was prepared to point out the CARB compliance sticker, but the tester never opened my hood.
