I noticed in the new Silverado cat commercial, (35sec) that full tailgate and inner seem to open together in one motion. Doesn't seem to work on my Sierra. Is this possible or just the way it's set up for the ad?

You have to hit both buttons almost simultaneously or once the gate has started to drop hit the mid gate button.  Gate button then immediately the flex gate button.  I've got that to work that way maybe twice.

The gates are physically the same Chevy/GMC for the flex gates.

Kinda what I figured. Would be great if say, a double button press would do this. I find quite often I have to fumble around finding the inner button when tailgate is down. Thks

This is a neat feature, but I really hope they offer a manual version, there is no way I want an electronically operated tailgate on my truck for 10+ years with the abuse I put it through. The regular tailgate works fine and plan to keep that but I hope my next truck in mid grade package doesn't have one of these power tailgates. Guess I could always sell it and make some cash? There has to be a market for these.

Not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mean the top gate dropping automatically when it drops? Looking at the video a few times, it doesn't show how he opens it, just that it comes down. I don't know how it works, unless it's an added feature on the 2021. A friend has a 2020 Silverado, he has a feature on his that lifts and closes the tailgate. Sure would be a nice feature for the heavy multi pro tailgate on the Sierra.

I press the lower button first, then the upper button to open the tailgate like was shown in the video (good one at that).

With a little practice you get the hang of it. Not hard at all.

They are only power actuated latches. Nothing powers the movement of the tailgate sections.* Even the normal tailgate has a power actuated latch, so you can’t get away from it.

*Unless you have a high country that is power up and down. Not sure that any multiflex have power up and down though
