My 2018 was totaled and I don't have access to it right now.  I am shopping for another 2018, but want to make sure that I get the IO5 radio, if I don't find one with navigation pre-installed.  I have asked several dealers to send me a picture of the tag; suggesting that it should be in one of the two glove boxes, probably up top, but none have been able to find it.  Where is the Service Parts Identification tag on the 2018 y/m trucks?

Also IO5/6 are easy to identify over the IOB radio.  Radio controls are the dead giveaway as is the screen size, 7 inch (iob) vs 8 inch.

IOB:

GM MyLink Camera Interface for 7" IOB Display Radios 2016-2018 9002-2765 - Brandmotion

IO5/6

Here's a pic of my RPO sticker that's in the glove box; look for the code in that list. Mine happens to be an IO6, as you can see in pic. This sticker will list every unit in your truck.

IO6 - AUDIO SYSTEM, 8" DIAGONAL COLOR TOUCH W/ NAVIGATION & MYLINK

Hope this helps

Would I be safe in assuming any given radio is IO5 if it has the OnStar Nav link showing the the dealer photos?  Like this one?

Also, @newdude, are you saying that there are only three radio options?  IOB, IO5 and IO6?  If so, this should be pretty easy to determine.

Yes to the OnStar NAV icon being IO5.

2016 and newer you will find IO3, IOB, IO5 and IO6.  IO3 is WT and maybe Custom trim base base non touch 4 inch radio (this one is real easy to spot because 4 inch screen).  IO3 was gone after 2017.  IOB is the mid radio with touch 7 inch, which was an option on base trims.  IOB became standard 2018.  IO5 and IO6 are uplevel radio, 6 being with factory nav, 5 being without.

An LT trim or higher should only be IO5 and IO6 for 2016-2019 old body.  Don't ever recall seeing an LT with IOB.
