iceytys Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Curious if anyone has run into this and what the possible solution might be. I installed a K&N Cold Air Intake system a couple weeks ago, and did have any issues with warning lights, etc, until just a few days ago. After 3 weeks of no issue, now I am getting the "check air filter" message upon start up. When I go into the filter tab in the info display, it doesnt even give me the option to reset it. Any ideas of what to do here? Thanks in advance
Transient Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 Check your connections. Make sure everything is correct and secure tightly. If you had a DTC code to share it would be more helpful. Make sure your MAF is installed correctly, and they're are no air gaps anywhere in the line anywhere after the MAF.

Yeah, unfortunately thats my point, there is not error code or check engine light as others have experienced. Attached is the only thing I am getting. All looks tight and connected under the hood.
mikystyle Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Turn the reminder off through the menus. I installed an S&B intake and it did the same thing. Just clear it and disable the warning function. I can’t remember where but it’s in a sub menu somewhere using the steering wheel
ForkBenderX Posted March 24, 2024 Posted March 24, 2024 You need to go to the Info page and scroll down to Air Filter life. Then tap for the Menu and choose Reset.

19 Denali ultimate Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I installed a AFE Momentum GT CAI with their dry washable filter, never disconnected the battery or anything and I haven't had a single issue going 4-4 1/2 years now.
TommyT19 Posted May 31, 2025 Posted May 31, 2025 The exact same thing happened to my 2022 GMC 6.6L. No code, so reset option. I disabled the air filter warning but I’m still worried it might actually be trying to tell me something. Will that mass air flow sensor still tell me something if it is actually crucial

Will that mass air flow sensor still tell me something if it is actually crucial MAF sensor will tell you there's a problem via a DTC. I've been running the GM Accessories CAI for almost 5 years with the filter life monitor turned off and have had 0 issues. I do clean my filter every 22,500 miles though (lines up with every 3rd oil change @ 7,500 miles each time).
