Hey guys, hoping this topic wasn’t created yet. I did a quick search on here and came up empty handed. I just wanted to reach out and get some real world feedback. Today I walked into 2 local dealers trying to work a deal on a 2022 Silverado Custom w/ the black out package. I don’t know the exact same of them package but it’s about a $47,000-$48,000 truck. Both dealers had a couple available in a few different color options that I was interested in. First dealer didn’t even want me to sit down to talk numbers once I asked what kind of deals they were doing. Second dealer gave me a list price of $48,260 + my state sales tax + $765 in fees. Being the truck is base inside aside from a infotainment screen which is basically a standard feature now I felt like I’d be paying to much. Am I looking at it wrong? Should I just settle for MSRP + taxes? Have you guys got any deals on 2022 Silverado 1500s regardless of trim? Would greatly appreciate some feedback here. Lastly I’m located in NY but I’m willing to travel out of state for an adventure and a deal lol. Any recommendations on dealers would also be appreciated. If there’s any good ones left lol

I've heard because of market conditions, some dealers are not discounting and some are even marking the price above the MSRP.  I won't pay it.  I'll wait until market conditions are better.

Every dealer I’ve walked in regardless of brand claims the same but on the other hand dealer profits are up over 82%. I refuse to pay it as well that’s why I started this topic. If there’s a deal to be a had I think we all deserve to find it!

Around here, dealers are marking them up $7k-$10k over sticker. I order a 2500 HC 4wd Crew Cab in March, it came in almost 4 months later and was almost $2,500 more than build price. GM was responsible for the increase and I'm still waiting for them to comp me something, but it's not looking too promising. My dealership sold it to me at MSRP, and I'm waiting for their check for the $500 Customer Cash rebate. It's a crappy buyer's market right now.

I agree waiting on the market. There is help though and I post about it almost weekly. It is CARPROUSA.com. An ex car dealership owner who been on the radio for 20 years. It’s free and worth the a look.

Expecting to get a deal below MSRP is unreasonable given the current market conditions.  They have more customers than vehicles so they will not discount it.  Your only hope to the bargain on the trade-in but also realize they are looking for newer model vehicles, 1-4 yrs old trucks, high mileage vehicles are not getting high $, they want trucks that still have the GM warranty.

MSRP plus any incentives is all your going to get.  Right now there isnt any incentives, so yes MSRP is the best deal you can get.  That may change soon but I think we are still 6-12 months out on that as demand is still way above supply.  Next summer it will be different.  You can search for things like military discount or google around some as you can get a few bucks here and there based off some clubs or memberships that you belong to.

I would say MSRP + tax is normal around here. Has anyone noticed trade-in values dipping yet?

No  but they are leveling,  they really havent been climbing but stayed the same.  They wont dip until the lots get half full or more with new vehicles and we are still 6-12 months out from that could even more unless car purchasing takes a slump..  The issue is guy goes in for a new truck,  dealer says 6-12 months, but I have this its cheaper then new(not by much as new used vehicles are a terrible buy right now) and they get bought.   Vehicle sales are only down about 10% from last year this time, and holding strong month to month even through high gas prices.  Was thinking gas prices would have knocked things down, but the economy still has way to much cash in it.  Manufactures are a year behind if not more really, like I said things have leveled but they wont go down for another year IMO, and even then they wont go back to where they were.

I paid msrp and got $500 manufacturer cash but I only had to wait 8 days since no one had claimed it yet  and I got more tradein on my 19 1500 than I paid new so I was okay with it.

for what it’s worth if you can wait, my local ford dealer told me I could order a f250 tremor and “depending on the options, would be 5-7k off msrp”

I didn’t wanna risk my trade in losing too much value so I went with the Chevy 2500 gasser.
