Turning off the seatbelt mandatory feature?

Recommended Posts

Sometimes you want to just move the truck a couple feet, or into another parking spot for example.

And these new trucks wont let you shift out of park without having the seat belt on.
Just testing my luck but Is there anyway to remove/stop this feature?

Does the OM method work?

To turn the Buckle to Drive feature on or off,  select Settings > Vehicle > Buckle to Drive.

See redwngr's answer, right from the owners manual.

Have you considered looking at the owner’s manual?

you can move it a few feet with the buckle to drive off but the chime still comes on if you want to go to the store.....guessing no way to dismiss the chime unless you have a dummy buckle latched in........in the 21 models it was able to be dismissed and chime would go off

It can still be done as redwngr stated:

On my '21 1500 (doesn't have buckle to drive that keeps it in park, but does have a chime/warning if unbuckled)

it chimes a few times and then gives up.

It will chime again a few minutes later but gives up again.

The seatbelt light will stay on though.

Prior was an '18 2500 that worked the same way.

Buckle to drive is a '23 feature.

It is supposed to give up after 10 or 20 seconds.

It is not supposed to repeat again during the ignition cycle -- so if frequently 'in and out' during during a trip it will not be necessary to repeat the wait (as long as ignition is kept on).

So the '22 2500 doesn't ever stop chiming?
