I wish I was smart enough to install a drain plug in the pan when I had my tranny rebuilt last summer lol

Dorman makes pans with drain holes for some applications. Rockauto has them at the best price.

GM builds these to fail, you are only putting off what is inevitably going to happen one day. Good luck holding it off.

So my Transmission is starting to slip
I just ordered a circle D 2600–2800 TC and the shift kit. Will I need to tune the transmission or can I just run it with the old program?

thanks in advance

You can go with a CTSV converter, 24045127.

Nice find. Price swing from vendor to vendor is huge. Shop around.

Purchased the new updated thermostat from gm for my 2017 silverado. I also purchased the superior kit #stl010 and swapped the internals. My thermostat hit 144 degrees for the high and 138 for the low temp today. Temp outside is 50 degrees and the hard shifting issue is gone. It kinds sucks had to replace tranny at 62,438 miles.

You did both of them?

Thinking about being proactive and replacing my torque converter before it inevitably fails and does more damage to the transmission. My truck currently has 105,000 miles and I’m not having any issues. I change out 5 qts of fluid once a year. I have the thermostat pill flipped and my Hypertech programmer allowed me to reduce the converter clutch slip to hopefully lengthen its life. I came across this Luk converter that seems to address the flaws with the stock unit. It has a dual disc clutch and the mounting ears are not welded to the case which distorts the clutch surface on the stock converter. They claim 5x the life of a rebuilt converter with a billet housing. Has anyone tried the Luk yet?

I may be interested in this as well and will be watching for replies. I have an OEM rebuilt that was installed by a dealer under the extended warranty Mar of 2024. I had 96,000 miles on it then. They come with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty so I have roughly a year and a half left. So far so good but based on their past, I'm a bit leery of longevity. I figure if I'm still in good shape next year around this time, an aftermarket torque converter is part of the plan. If the trans goes bad before Mar of 2027, I will get a warranty replacement and then have an aftermarket TC done right away.
