Hi all. I just joined this forum to help me with upgrades to my newly acquired 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. It features the X31 off road package along with 20-inch wheels and factory 2-inch lift. I installed the factory performance exhaust and have a cold air intake on order. I just ordered a factory fog light kit and am looking for the installation instructions. I know I will have to have the dealer program it but no issues there. I looked on the web but so far, I have not found them. Can anyone help? Thanks for any help you might provide.

Welcome to the Forum, nice looking truck. The factory system is cold air intake so all you gain by changing it is looks

Thanks. I think I will just buy the K&N intake tube to get rid of the big factory air tube.

Those are all dealer installed options.

Did the kit not come with install instructions? It is my understanding they do then you get a code or something to take to the dealer for them to program.

The instructions do come with the kit.

Its not depicted in the instructions, there are 2 plastics locks on the sides of the green(green for me) fuse block that you need to remove a connector and add a connector, you HAVE to remove the locks prior to pressing the release pins/captured connector. 1938322030_Viewrecentphotos.thumb.png.67fd24a952bb23463ce1b9aa2c8b1e05.png

Thanks, I was under the impression that the kit did not come with install instructions since it is supposed to be a dealer installed item. I do not have the kit yet. Just ordered it this morning. I hope it comes with a code since I ordered it from a GM online dealer.

It SHOULD come with the instructions, but I know some parts just say ask dealer for document BLAHBLAHBLAH for install instructions. My fogs came with the instructions and the code. The problem is the dealer wanted to charge at least $150 to ACTIVATE the fogs, even though I had installed the kit myself and all I needed them to do was activate it in the BCM. I thought the whole point of the code and paying out the nose for the GM kit was that that cost INCLUDED the BCM update to enable them. It pissed me off so I used a diode to jump the parking light trigger to the fog light trigger so the fogs come on and stay on any time the parking lights are on.

I spoke to my dealer before I bought the kit and he said that he would activate it. I also have some other things I want to update so I will see if I can get them to give me a break when I take it in. .

$150 is probably the minimum charge they can do. I stopped at a Firestone store yesterday  for air in a low tire and they said if I pulled into the bay they would have to start a workorder after they said the hose wouldn't reach out the door, it was plenty long enough come to find out
