I think youre grossly overstating their ability to affect an outcome. At best they are intended to appease customers. In the end they have no power and only tell you they have made suggestions to the dealer about resources that the dealers are already intimately aware of.

I don't feel your comments are fair. They did come to my assistance with an issue, and was able to make a positive difference.  Perhaps they cannot in every case depending on the circumstances, but any help is good help, Imho.

Wow that’s crazy and I’m so sorry that you’re going through all that.
A little back story on our truck which I haven’t even owned two weeks now. But I found out who the previous owners were they actually happened to be people I know, and I bought the truck from the dealer. Anyhow they have taken it to several dealers including dealers in other states and always told there’s nothing wrong with it. For over 6 months and at least 5 dealers. Even contacts GM and GM put a new motor in it 6,000 miles ago. So what I thought was a truck with 90,000 only has 6,000 on the motor. But GM or the dealer didn’t disclose any of that. Why wouldn’t a dealer want to tell you that information that would make the value of the vehicle higher. But I am also going to call GM this morning and contact the national highway and safety. I’ve also spoken with several mechanics that believe it has to be transmission related but I don’t know what all the dealer actually checks.

Hello, Kari Bannister. Please know our team is only an email away if you are ever in need of assistance. Thank you and have a great day.

If you go back to the last post in the first page of this thread there is a TSB number, where you are having the same problem it would be worth reading the entire thread, that way it will appear you know what you are talking about when you take it in for the repair

Not only was it nerv wracking to drive the truck i was also T boned by a 1 tons truck May 4th 2022 on my motorcycle and spent 4 months in hospital and lost my left leg and had broken 4 ribs and 3 fractures along my spine and major concussion and broken wrist.. i was already a nervous driver after my accident let alone ready to have a truck make me that uncomfortable and worried about mine and everyone elses safety..

And sorry for the long message and rambling on..

Did you ever get a resolution to your situation?

My 21 Sierra 3.0l is experiencing the same issues. I’ve taken my truck in 4 times. Had to pay the inspection charge and was told sorry we couldn’t find anything wrong with your truck. It’s currently at the shop right now. When I called to pick it up I was told they didn’t drive my truck but found a link addressing my concern and would have to keep my truck another 3 weeks or more. Did I mentioned they have had my truck for 3 weeks already. Not to mention that 6 months after I purchased my truck it was in the dealership for the timing wheel being bent. My son doesn’t even want to ride in my truck because of the rear wheel locking up issue. And I can’t be upset it is very scary every time it happens. Semi trucks don’t stop as fast as our trucks and there are many unstable road raged drivers out there already. It’s just a matter of time till something terrible can occur.  I hope your issue was resolved.

read the previous posts in this thread. There is a TSB number . Give that number to your dealer and if they choose to ignore it move up the ladder until you get satisfaction

2021 sierra 1500 3.0 10-speed.  Mid July 2024 (63k miles) experienced random shifting in and out of gears at approxately 65 mph.  Pulled over, turned off and back on, made it to destination and no problems after.  Next day same issue.  One time it shifted into a gear so low that the tires chirped and it felt like I hit something. Dealer thought was valve body and due to back order, replaced the entire tranny.  Got truck back and 2 days later problem repeated.  I had dealer tow it this time due to my safety concerns.  20 days later I'm told by dealer that problems is def tank temp sensor. I asked how a def tank anything would affect shifting and was told that if that sensor goes bad it affects alot of other systems. Anybody experience this issue and a def tank temp sensor replacement fix the problem??

Communications data line.  If that sensor uses a shared line like a LINBUS circuit, if there is an intermittent loss of data communications on that data bus from a fault in the sensor, its possible that's how.

Many sensors and components share various data lines.  A fault in one component can cause issues system wide.

I had this happen to me as well, best I could tell was some kind of short or signal interference with the trailer brake controller. Pulled everything out, cleaned, dielectric greased some connections and wrapped up some junctions on the harness and haven't had any issues since. You would have pretty serious flat spots on your tires doing 62 miles an hour, if not, likely the trailer locking up and not the truck. Well, my experience at least.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
