Yesterday, I cross-rotated my FL with my RR. About an hour later I went grocery shopping, without noticing anything unsual, I think because I typically run the same tire pressure all around, as per my door jamb placard. Today, I decided to see what it might ride like with higher pressure in the front than the back, so I set my fronts to 37 and my rears to 34. Surprisingly, my DIC now reads:

LF34  RF37

LR34  RR37

It appears that my TPMS system must not have autolearned yesterday's FL <==> RR wheel position swap. Now, the manual says:

TPMS Sensor Matching Process — Auto Learn Function
Each TPMS sensor has a unique identification code. The identification code needs to be matched to a new tire/wheel position after rotating the tires or replacing one or more of the TPMS sensors. When a tire is installed, the vehicle must be stationary for about 20 minutes before the system recalculates. The following relearn process takes up to 10 minutes, driving at a minimum speed of 20 km/h (12 mph). A dash (-) or pressure value will display in the DIC. See Driver Information Center (DIC) (Base Level) page 130 or Driver Information Center (DIC) (Uplevel) page 131. A warning message displays in the DIC if a problem occurs during the relearn process.

My truck sat for 20 minutes yesterday between the time I swapped wheel positions and the time I went grocerty shopping. It also later sat overnight. Not only did I drive 18 miles to the grocery store and back yesterday, I also just took it for a 26 mile round trip drive, which included two 9 mile freeway runs. I can't promise that the drive included 10 minutes of continuous 20mph+ speed, but the owners manual says "up to 10 minutes". I also never saw a (-) pressure value, as stated in the above owners manual excerpt. I doubt it needs the full 10 minutes, but if it really doesm, it could take weeks for an autolearn to occur because my daily drive to work is 13 miles, with 9 miles on the freeway, so I don't see 10 minutes of continuous driving over 20mph.

Does anyone know how I might "force" a relearn?

Just thought of something. The manual doesn't say one way or another, but does the vehicle have to be turned on while it is sitting during the 20 minute wait? Because it's not been left on while sitting for 20 minutes since the wheel position swap.

Are you saying put it in relearn mode then drive it, while it's in relearn mode? Or, are you saying to do the manual relearn with the relearn tool?

On the way to work this morning, I started the truck, warmed it up, then right before I started driving, put it in relearn mode. At first both passenger side tires read higher than the driver's side (when both fronts are actually higher than the rears). After about 10 miles, it looked like both fronts became higher. I can't be sure, but that may have done the trick. When I get home, I will let air out of one of them and see if it now reports the lower pressure on the correct tire.

How do you put it in 'relearn mode'?  I assume it;s in the manual, but I haven't made it that far in the 453 pages yet, I guess.

It is NOT in the manual! I know, dumb, right? Scroll through the info on the DIC until you see tire pressure. Press in on the the scroll wheel, which also happens to be a button. Hold it down until you hear the horn beep twice. The screen should now say something like "Tire Relearn Activated". The exterior left front turn signal then becomes illuminated to let you know which tire to start with if you're going to proceed with the manual relearn process. In my case, and apparently silvetadosid's friend's case, I did not have to go any further, as after driving it for a bit, it autolearned. Apparently, the feature is not without bugs, and is not reliable, so I ordered the little relearn tool for $8 on Amazon to use next time.
