HUH?

My dad went to pick up new tires for his BMW 325is, (the michleins were good(and high dollar), but the previous owner let them set, and they were roting) and they were telling my dad: Michelin Makes Uniroyal! I guess I respect them more now.

Anybody know when this happened?

Anyway we bought Tiger Paw Touring HR, their best high-performance tire, according to thier site.

There is alot of consolidation in the Tire industry. ONly like 3-4 major players now...

Everyone is either owned, or owns everyone else now... ???

Yep, it is sort of true. Michelin owns Uniroyal-Goodrich. But it is like the Bridgestone-Firestone-Pirelli or the Continental-General relationship. They are owned by the parent company, but are still basically separate companies. Most of the mergers happened early/mid 90's
