Ordered from Rivard end of May, ordered was accepted mid June. Went to event code 3300 scheduled for production the last week of June and have been stuck with no TPW since. I ordered a 24 at4 duramax with premium plus package, with 5th wheel package. Reading back on this forum I saw gooseneck is on constraint? I reached out to my dealer and was told it was not on constraint.

Mine was 5 weeks from scheduled to production week then built in 1 week

Really excited for my new build as this is my first truck I have ever custom built / ordered and this my first HD.  Put in an order with my dealership for a 2024 Silverado 2500 LTZ back in March, however something was always constrained all the way until 06-13-23.

Is there a way for the customer to get a status on the build besides going to the dealer?  I want to get an update, but I feel like I have already contacted my dealer WAY too much :D

Unless you know someone who has access to the people in production scheduling your dealer is your only source.

Someone asked earlier about which plant built the GMC models, Last I was told was that Oshawa only built Chevys and there may or may not have been a constraint on which cab+bed configs also. Essentially Oshawa gets a very popular variety of the truck and Flint builds them all. I was told that ALL of the GMC's came out of Flint. Unless Its changed in the last couple of months (I havent heard)

Update!

Just got a call from the dealer, the truck, a diesel 2500 LTZ, is finally on a train from Flint to Oregon, currently in Indiana. fwiw it was built in late May.

My build week is 7/31.  Sounds like I will have my 3500 Duramax Ultimate SWR mid-August based on shipping time for other folks.

Did Sammy happen to mention to you why your order had to be edited?

After hearing from other on here that 5th wheel prep is on constraint, and no word back on whether crew cab long bed is off of constraint. its looking like probably November or December before I take delivery.

Didn't ask, he sent me a page with order update and it said that on it let me see if I can put copy up here of how it went.

All updates were on Wednesday within about 5 minutes of each other.

The dealer has placed the order but GM has not accepted it into their system. Either the dealer is waiting on allocation to place the order or GM is waiting on parts for your order before the accept it. Mine sat at 1100 for about a 2 weeks. Here’s a list of the codes. https://www.at4forum.com/threads/list-of-event-codes-and-how-to-obtain-them-new-orders.414/

I just called the GMC customer service number rather than doing the chat. The customer service rep told me I have a TPW for 7/31. I asked my dealer and he said he doesn’t see a TPW…wonder who is right.

Just got the email from GM my truck is being built. Funny how the customer service lady I spoke with on the phone told me TPW was for this week and the dealer said he didn’t know the date on his end. So from my experience, call GM customer service phone number to get updates.

We live in a world where now information is available online 24/7. The vehicle order process is exactly the same as it was 35 yrs ago when I first started ordering trucks rather than buying off the lot. Add to that a new model thats in high demand and its a recipe for frustration. GM needs to rethink how they provide information to buyers but its also likely that some dealers dont necessarily embrace that. When I ordered my truck in February I knew my dealer didnt have an allocation at that time. Many people dont get that kind of transparency with their dealer. a couple weeks after I ordered they assigned an allocation. The truck was originally scheduled for May 18th but ended up being built 2 weeks earlier on May 4th. I firmly believe that a high percentage of the misinformation comes from the dealers sandbagging people. I cant prove it but my BS detector goes off regularly.

Theres a new YT video from Steve Lehto that talks about ordered vehicles and some of the games that dealers play.

Things are rarely as they seem.

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
