Gee I thought I was fat. I put on my coveralls and slide right under. In a pinch two 2 by 4s. Never ramps or jacks. I went in through the side.

I hardly think at 5' 11" 145 pounds that's my problem...lol

I just like a little room to move under there, I have used ramps for oil changes since I was 16 years old.

A jack and jackstands when under is another option.

When plug back in and filter on, lower it back down to add oil.

Then no need to roll truck

Step stool for adding the oil when up on the ramps?

(and, fwiw, my original confusion was because interpreted the original problem as reaching the filter rather than filler)

I don't think you were the only one to be confused by the way I worded it......those words are very similar.

I think a step stool for adding the oil is a great idea!

The oil filler tube on these trucks is way back from the front of the truck when they are on ramps.

I decided to try the 3 inch Race Ramps and use a step stool to refill it.

I think that will do that trick and just leave it on the ramps the whole time.

I'm 6'7", almost 300 lbs, and I have never had an issue changing the oil with the truck on the ground.  I just get on the ground and slide under it.  Then again, I can also easily refill the oil even with the truck on ramps, lol.  Its a blessing and a curse :)

I put my truck on the ramps. Then jack up the rear pumpkin and put the rear axles on jack stands and level the truck right out.

Then just change the oil and filter and refill it.
