Do you take your shoes and socks off to rub your feet on the filthy floor carpeting? 馃ぃ

Shoes and socks? Florida? Only for maybe a month in the winter when it might get in the 50's. 馃槈 Flip flops or barefoot. Filthy? My truck carpet is just as clean as my house carpet. Vacuumed weekly and carpet cleaner monthly....of course.聽

Wouldn't it be nice if they just stopped installing CARPET in cars and trucks so we wouldn't need to put plastic mats to hide and protect the carpet beneath????????????????????聽 Redundant retardation!

In trucks it's called the base model or Work Truck with no carpet. If you don't like carpet, just order up a work truck rubber floor. I love the GM liners better than any of the other brands I've used. They're more rubber and fit perfect and don't deform and so far haven't discolored either.

Rubberized hard flooring should be the default in every manufactured vehicle unless specified otherwise by special order option.聽 It's akin to installing carpet in your garage or on your driveway, it makes absolutely zero sense and is totally impractical for the purpose that automobiles serve.

You are still talking about loving the GM floor mats that cover up that carpet, which sounds ludacris.聽 Does anyone ever install vinyl flooring or tile over existing carpet in their homes because they want to keep the carpet clean?聽 NO, we rip that carpet out before we move in!

Now, you are just talking crazy....聽

The carpet in trucks and cars cuts down on dvh in them. Saves the heels of your shoe while driving (you northerners ;)). Yeah, I'm one now but not thrilled with it. And it looks good. I put rubber mats in during the winter to make cleanup way easier not because it looks better. And yeah it's hard on the heels of the cowboy boots (my southern dress up attire).聽

I never had the issue with plastic floors wearing the heels out of shoes.聽 Are your soles constructed with styrofoam perhaps?聽 Or did you install skateboard grip tape on the entirety of your floor linings for added grip for super trick flips?

My issue is usually the opposite, my heels rub a hole in the floor mats or carpet.聽 9 times out of 10 when I am replacing mats its because the heel of my boot wore a hole in the mat.

Yeah, no crap!聽 In high mileage cars I either see a huge tear or hole in the OEM carpet floor mats, or if they don't have any, the factory carpet floor lining is also torn to shreds.

You can tell how well a car is "abused" simply by looking at the carpet flooring.聽 If they didn't even take the time to buy $20 floor mats from Walmart, you know they really don't give a squat about maintenance!

My beater boots from this winter. They might be older than you (about 40 yo Justins). New pair of Tecovas are now my dressers.聽20230427_100303.thumb.jpg.8eae0a918f1fcd27973203b5893667ba.jpg

I bought the GM premium all weather liners for front and rear. I've pulled them out for the summer without any damage or scratching. They are not a hard stiff rubber. The rears needed trimming to fit because I have underseat storage. Rear is 2 piece that interlock. Happy with them.聽

I didn't need to trim mine. I just lifted the underseat storage a little and the mat slide right under it. Unless your talking about one of the bigger underseat ones.聽

The large GM underseat storage with the lids requires trimming. The cut lines are molded into the back side of the rear liners. The instructions for the storage tells you where to trim.

I actually DO have carpet in my barn, Armor All garage floor covering. It absorbs water and salt and keeps from ruining the concrete where salt sits.

My full size trucks are the only ones I've put rubber/plastic liners in aside from my now ex wife's SUV's because kids make a mess! Otherwise all my vehicles have carpet floor mats.

Ended up with the GM liners.聽 Happy with 'em thus far.聽 They do seem to be a bit softer than the Weathertech mats.聽 Purchased front only as its rare for someone to be in the back seat and the Weathertech mat back there is just fine.聽 Here is the door threshold聽from the Weathertechs having scratched them up.聽聽
