Finally had the forward collision automatic braking go into action

Over 1 year of ownership with the safety confidence package and have never felt the auto braking work until yesterday.  So typical of stupid drivers, happens to me a lot and I'm sure a lot of you too.  This BMW raced ahead of me on my left, jumped in front of me and started braking hard to turn right onto the interstate on ramp.  Didn't bother me much, happens all the damn time to me, my forward collision alert went off, still no big deal because I'm already braking anticipating what the idiot is going to do.  Apparently the truck didn't like my braking pressure to avoid me hitting the car so all of a sudden the brake pedal goes further down and basically took over.  I was never worried about hitting the car but the truck wasn't ok with the closure rate......I was like...FINALLY I know it works.  And works well too LOL... Question I've always wondered finally answered...  Have a great evening all!!

Nice to know you like the system, and more importantly, made it home safely!

 

I'm tempted to add a snowplow package to my truck down here in TX just so I can properly dispose of those kind of drivers .

Too funny!!  I deal with them everyday so its became no big deal to me.  I do know one thing, I have be hitting on all 8 cylinders and my head on a swivel to avoid all the close calls I have almost everyday.  Drivers today never cease to amaze and disappoint me.  I never hit my horn as well, too many people here just dying to use their glock with road rage, I'm always armed as well but hope I never have to use it, so I just play it safe, stay low, avoid hitting them and live to tell about it another day.  The joys of living and driving in Atlanta...lol...

I know you are talking about the braking features, but I’m wondering if you have the vibrating seat warning or just the chimes and red HUD bar.

wife has it in her acadia,  purposely left it off of my AT4.  Really dont see the value in it between its screw ups it has, and annoyance.  To me its not mature technology yet, and will avoid it until it is.
