stopped by the dealership that I bought the truck from yesterday to look into getting a set of sensors.  They want $450 for a set.  That seems a bit high.  Of course they wouldn't give me the part number to look up myself.  Looking on Rock Auto and tpms.com I see 3 different GM AC Delco part numbers.  How do I determine for sure the correct ones to get?  Or will any of them work?  They're all listed as 433 mhz.  The ones on Rock Auto are part# 13528563 vs tpms.com showing 13516165 or 13542523.  Any help?

When I use my Autel to read my sensors, it shows the part number. I ordered a set of 4 TPMS sensors at my dealer for my winter tires/wheels. $220 with tax. Dealer gave me the part number and it matched the Autel reading.

Do you have the part number you can share?  Also what year is yours?

My truck is the same as my info, 2024 AT4 HD. Truck was built in Nov 2023. TPMS part number is 13542523. My Autel shows a few TPMS part numbers that were used: 13538761, 13542523, 13545366, all 433MHz. If I scroll back to include the year of your truck, also see 13530661 and 13516165.

 

The parts department at my dealer has no problem giving me part numbers based on the VIN of my truck. 

 

I would verify which sensors are correct for your truck before purchasing based on the VIN. Maybe someone here can verify for you.

Something is seriously wrong with the parts guy at your dealer.

 

These are from the US Chev website accessories section 

Set for 2022 2500 LTZ

 

Trailer tire sensors are different the the ones for the truck, so I copied both.

 

$40 x 4 = $160 for a set of GM ones for your 2022 2500 

 

Even if they were going to install the sensors, $450 seems pretty high.

I believe the Global B trucks (refreshed) use different sensors that the previous generation.

 

1500 changed mid 2022 model (so 2022.5 or 2022i)

I traded a '21 1500 for a '23 1500.

 

I kept the winter wheels I had used on the '21 --- but found I had to get the new sensors. 

 

I'm not sure about tire shops, but at my dealer the OEM ones were cheaper that the universal fit 'aftermarket' ones they like to use.  

I quizzed them if they were quoting OEM.  They looked up the OEM price and seemed surprised the OEM ones were cheaper.

(not sure if that pricing difference holds true for the pre-refresh sensors).

You guys are awesome.  Thanks for all the replies!  Will get a set ordered and hopefully get tires mounted next week.  I’m installing Kryptonite stage 3 level kit sometime in the next few weeks.  I’ll probably leave the stock wheels on for a bit to drive around until front end settles out then get alignment.  Then the new wheels and tires will go on.

Encountered this refresh change as well when 433mhz sensors would not learn but could be read just fine. The post electrical refresh sensors are cheaper from GM OEM. It is going to be confusing as they use the same frequency unlike the previous change.

The shop I had mount my new tires had sensors for $60 so I went with them instead of ordering ones online.  Haven’t put the wheels on truck yet though, so hopefully I’m good.  They wanted truck vin for programming the sensors when they were doing sensors/tires so hopefully I don’t have any issues with them learning when I get around to actually putting them on the truck.

finally put the new wheels and tires on.  The new tpms sensors didn't work when I first put the wheels on; truck wouldn't recognize them when I did relearn.  I had to take the truck back to tire shop with the factory wheels/tires in back so they could figure it out.  They were able to copy the signal from the oem sensors and then program the new ones to work with the truck.  Took them about 20 minutes and now all is well.  I gotta say, 35's still look kinda small on these trucks.

If you bought *actual* OEM sensors, they'd have learned with the relearn tool right away.  Sounds like you bought aftermarket clonable sensors which won't work unless they program them like you had to have done.

Right, I bought sensors from the tire shop with the tires.  I hope they hold up ok.  I probably should have just dropped the truck to them the first time and let them pull the oem sensors and install on the new wheels and been done with it.

Here's what I have encountered. I have a set of winter rims w/ Schrader TPMS sensors. After installing the set on my previous truck, 2017 Silverado HD 2500, the truck wouldnt recognise them. Dealer was unable to match them. So in the ensuing winters, I just ignored the warning.

 

W/ the new truck arriving, I figured I'd get things straightened out. I asked at the local garage about them busting the bead & switching the sensors to GM sensors. The young lad said, that might not be necessary. 'Bring 1 of the mounted tires and I'll check'. I did & w/ the Snap On tool, he was able to match the tire to the truck. A few minutes later I got an email from OnStar warning that the RR tire pressure was only 50 psi. 

 

In the past I had the dealer lower the alarm threshold, so I could run my tires @ 50 psi.

 

Does anyone know what the OEM 'low pressure' setting is for the 2024 2500HDs w/ 17" wheels?

Ive been planning this project for months, doing my research here. Wifes 16 equinox the tpms sensor went south. Dealer wanted $420, I found Schraeder valves for $41 each and I have a manual tire changer and the $20 tpms learn tool. Oh I forgot to mention I'm a tight wad.

wrestling match ensued. And lots of research. The tpms units i bought need programmed, (told what vehicle they are going on. 
many calls later only one had the tool for schraeder. Luckily they said just pull up to door 3 or 4 an They would program them for free. WHEW! That's today's project. 
the schraeder looks identical except for one molding line. 
just thought I should share what I learned. Have them programmed before installing but it can be done after.

    • There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.

    • I have a 2026 2500 HD Ultimate. My phone app says there’s a software update available. It’s something about improved battery management and something to do with the running boards. I follow the instructions for the update but the “Check for Updates” option is greyed out in my settings menu. Has anyone else seen this? How did you resolve it? The help message just says “see your dealer” if the download doesn’t work. I’m just trying to save a trip. 
    • Fuel mileage?  That's all how you use your right foot.  Exhaust will give you sound.   Stock exhaust 5.3 is 2.75" diameter piping.     If the truck is nice and worth putting some $$ into it, I'd go for a Corsa catback.  I had one on my 2019 old body 5.3 and it was just perfect.  Zero drone, just driving around and cruising on the highway you'd think it was stock, but when you opened it up it was like a Camaro with the factory dual mode.  Corsa bumps their catback to 3in diameter.
