during the 1st month of having the truck it happen two times. after 4 months its happening every other day.

the only cure is to shut the truck down for a few minutes and then starts working again. Any ideas?

When in park with the truck running, hold the end call/mute button on the steering wheel for approximately 10 seconds and the radio will do a hard restart. See if that fixes your issue. Not sure if the audio problem is with your phone or with any audio source, but if it's with your phone make sure it's running the latest update and try deleting and repairing it.

when this happens do the turn signals not make sound?   Same issue here.  I've taken it in to the dealer, everything is updated.  I've also had the system reboot itself.  2024 silverado LTZ - dealer left sheet in my Truck  #PIT6101E

condition "Some customers may comment that they intermittently have not audio, turn signal click clack, or warning chimes."   they highlighted "Engineering is aware of the issue and investigating"  Let me know if you have gotting the issue fixed and any info on it.  thanks

Same problem with 2024 HD AT4.  3800 miles. No sound for any indicators or radio.  Happens more often in high heat condition.  Dealer never heard of it before they claim.

Had the same problem 2024 2500 HD GMC Denali. Turning truck off and then on after a few minutes fixed it.

On my 2024 1500, the audio will cut out for less than a second a few times in the first 5 minutes of a drive cycle, and then seems to go away. The unit has locked up several times and I've had to do a forced reboot.

Any update on this either from poster or GM??  Have a 2024 Silverado with less than 700 miles and just experienced this today.  Powering the truck off and back on a bit later didn't resolve the issue.  I still have no audio from radio, phones, etc.

Thanks

Take.  It.  Back.  To.  The.  Dealer.

Give them this bulletin number, 23-NA-183.

Here's what it fixes:

Most notable improvements contained in this release may include:

  • Customer may have intermittent drops in audio.
  • When starting the vehicle, the blower motor speed may drop unexpectedly.
  • A customer may not be able to save Favorites or keep a phone paired to the vehicle because it is in the Guest profile with no way to get to the Driver profile.
  • CarPlay might play through the phone instead of the vehicle.
  • There may be no radio audio after a phone call ends.
  • The customer might have no radio audio.
  • Text message playback might play through the phone instead of the vehicle.
  • In the trailering app the brake gain does not save.
  • The customer might have a black screen when using Hulu.
  • The HUD might show audio metadata for too short of a time, or not at all, when changing stations.
  • Google play security patches.

Update:

still have the same issue after dealership updated software of new radio. Was told new radio may be bad and currently waiting a new radio.

Problems persist after 4 trips to the dealership, firmware/software updates.  (my last trip was yesterday 10/14/2024, I'm done wasting my time and nothing being fixed.   They can't fix it, and they know about the problems.

Background

I bought a new 2024 ltz CC silverado in April.  Immediately noticed problems with Audio volume randomly going out (no volume xm, fm or carplay) No Blinker noise.  My maps will not open randomly,  Sometimes My HUD will not show directions when i'm using the Car navigation when it's set to display Navigation (cycling through HUD Settings brings it back.)  I've had it into the Dealership 4 times with update etc.   I've been direct messaging GM on twitter also and uploading videos I've taken when it happens.  Totally disconnected phone Blutooth, wifi and disabled carplay and it still happens.  Last time they told me I needed to bring it in when it happens, which I did yesterday(10/14/2024).   showed the tec how there was no volume on radio or blinkers.   They did there update again.  On the way home i noticed the Speed limit sign is now not showing up in my HUD or dash anymore.  I know they are aware of it because they left PIT6101E in my truck.   I traded in my 2021 GMC at4 Yukon XL which had no issues, but was different display and dash.  This is really frustrating.  Have been DM gm on twitter.

PIT6101L - I had issues - they did Y172 update - fine for a bit - issue came back - thankfully was doing it when my appt was and they replaced amp per PIT.  So far so good.  I took a video of it happening to just in case (tip:  make sure phone isn't connected to BT or CarPlay as mic won't work).  Go to another dealer - PIT is clear, if no audio, replace amp.

Hi - All.  Had amplifier replaced per PIT6101L last week - fine for a week - issue back today !!!!

Given the # of these all over forums and PITs - how do we get a resolution? - dealer wants me to drop off and give me a loaner - hmmm - not sure that is worth the time given it is most likely a software issue?
