There have been a few threads started on this on some of the other GM/AT4 forums, so I figured I'd get one going here with the hopes that GM can get a fix going on it.

People (including myself) are reporting crackling/static noises during Bluetooth calls on new vehicles and those that have received the Y172 software update. When I brought it up to my dealer while I was in for a different issue they also mentioned someone who was in right before me complained of the same issue following the update.

Please let us know if you're also experiencing this.

I have the same issue.  Recall update installed by dealer Monday, static in Bluetooth calls since then.  2024 1500 AT4.

Nothing yet. If the recall is supposedly fixing an issue with battery drain during OTA updates, then hopefully they can just send out a quick OTA update to fix this crackling.

same issue on our 2023 Suburban when we got the update 2 weeks ago. Crackling when on Bluetooth calls. Very frustrating. Needs to be fixed ASAP!

Same issue after the radio module update in early October for me. I started a case with GM, had the dealer listen and they heard it too. They didn't have a fix but wanted me to bring the vehicle back in to troubleshoot. I won't bring it in until GM has a known fix as there's no reason to be without a vehicle while they tear the car apart on a trial and error mission. Please start a case with GM if you experienced the same so they will hopefully expedite efforts for a fix.

Just picked a new 2024 Silverado 1500.  Speakers sound great with music.  Crackling popping on phone calls.

How do we start a case with GM?

Loving the truck so far.  I'm used to software issues with My former F150 Powerboost and Jeep GC 4xe.

The issue is fixed in Y175.  It should be available soon.  They are getting close to sending out over the air updates soon if you took your truck in for CGM update.

Interesting.

I had the update installed last week but have yet to experience the crackling.

I’m still running Android 10. I’ve tried to update but keep getting the message that.    I have the latest version.
