True. Drove through Houston last winter on a way to a cruise. Put that on my list of places never to go to again. Company up here in the wintertime is sparce and even in the summer people balk at the distance. Love the winter solitude.

They are using CAN injection devices. Also, they can use a two person method where someone stands close to your front door with a device that grabs your FOB signal and relays it to the other person's device near the truck door. Truck recognizes the FOB is present and allows access and engine...etc.

 

I keep my FOB in a faraday pouch at home. Can't really do anything about the CAN injection other than there is a device that taps into the fuel circuit of your vehicle and has its own FOB that enables/disables the fuel pump. Haven't looked much into that one yet though, only heard about it recently.
