Curious if anyone has experienced this issue, and how it was resolved at the dealer. I am out of warranty by miles, so trying to get an idea of what the dealer is going to charge me and what I am going to fight since I feel like this is GM issue pushing an update I didn't ask for. I still need to visit the dealer for the software update that was issued last year, maybe this is part of the update?

I've tried the radio reset- nothing, I unplugged the battery for a couple of hours - still pops up with the same message. No stereo, no chimes, the only thing that works on the screen is the backup camera.

Did some searches on google and most of what popped up is from Reddit, I'll take their feedback with a grain of salt. If there's a thread on here, please link it and I'll catch up on the

topic.

Was this an update that downloaded automatically by the truck on its own or one that you selected and did manually?

Just thinking out loud and I could be wrong but I bet if you took your truck into the dealer and were nice and polite about it they would run an update or diagnose your radio problem for free. Or if you have a radio problem maybe they would fix it for a reasonable cost. Don't go in all whipped up looking for a fight. That would be my approach to the problem.

This was an odd one. I did not see a notification that said an update was going to be downloaded, nor did I select one manually. In the past, I was notified if an update was going to be installed and that it could take XX amount of minutes. The message on the screen (picture posted) was the only notification I received.

This is how I handled the situation and it worked out for me. I believe it helped that I needed the dealer installed software update already. The dealer was able to fix my issue at the same time and did not give me any issues.
