Considering a QJ primarily for my smaller vehicles’ (two RAV4s and a Camry) maintenance (brakes, trans service, diff, transfer case).  Looking at both the 6000TLX and the 8000TLX.  These are rated at 6000# and 8000# respectively.  There are various adapters available for jacking points ( ex pinch welds, flat pucks, etc).

QuickJack

The 8000 appears capable of lifting my ‘23 3500, Gas, 6 Spd., 4X4, SRW, Crew with a curb weight of 7125#.

Do any of you use the QJ for your truck and/or smaller vehicles? If so, which model?

If you use on your truck, where do you place Jack points?  I know the owners manual for my truck calls for (at least for spare tire changing) between shock mount and leaf spring pack u bolt for rear and built in round point near frame for front.  Obviously from the the rear axle to front jack point makes it too long of a spread for the QJ which has a max spread of 66”.

Thoughts?

Black02Silverado has a set that he uses. Send him a PM if he doesn't chime in soon. I picked up a set about 2 months ago, but have yet had time to do anything with them.

They'll be setup on the frame rails. I know where the points are on my truck that I've always put my jackstands

I have a set. I bought mine well over a year ago and I think that is before they switched up the weights they can hold. I think mine are the 7000lbs ones. They lift my Cadillac DTS and my project mustang no problems at all.

My truck is just a half ton crew cab short bed, lifts that just fine using the frame. They sell the truck adapter pieces to give you extra height.

Do you plan on using them on your HD truck?  If so, what is your current weight

I have a 7000ext.  Bought mainly for my camaro but have used on a toyota highlander and VW atlas also.  I have yet to use it on my truck.

I do have the truck adapter kit for mine if I ever need.

I don't have an HD truck so I can't answer that. I ordered the 7000 but they sent me the 8000 since they were out of stock due to a big sale they were having. As long as you're within the weight limit rating for whatever size you get, you'll be fine

FWIW: My truck weighs 8800 lbs on the scale.

I assume you do not use the QJ on this truck, or do you?

No, I don't own one.

I'd like to have one (or similar); but given that I wouldn't be able to use this one because of the weight, I won't be buying it.

And based on my very limited window shopping on the matter, it didn't strike me as that great of a deal.
