What kinds of things are you all using these days to protect your interiors when transporting dogs? I previously had a Suburban with a package that covered everything including side paneling in the back, but now I'm trying to determine if there is anything what actually works well to protect nice leather benches, rear seat backs, door panels, backs of front seats, etc. Any help would be appreciated, and pics would sure help me envision what I need.

I used a Weathertech seat protector and GM floor liners. Our German Shepard was sickly his last two years and made several messes. The seat protector contained all the mess and with a little soap then rinse with a hose and line dry ready for another mess. The floor liners work great for the little that he spread around. Paper towels and Fantastic or similar product worked great.

I was a little concerned when I bought the seat protector as it had seat belt holes closed with hook and loop fastening system. No leakage or issues with that.

I don't have any recommendations for seat backs or door panels.

OK, Joe, thanks so much for the feedback. I, too, am partial to German Shepherds, so your "review" of the seat protector says a lot.

We have used this company's products in our 16 Tahoe, and currently in our 23 Yukon, good quality and fit.

This is the kind of thing I had for my Suburban, too, tough canvas. Unfortunately, the company you referred to doesn't make anything that covers everything for my truck.

I use one-piece husky floor liner across the back, a Duluth deluxe seat saver (https://www.duluthtrading.com/s/DTC/deluxe-seat-saver-96000.html?color=GRA) and a cover/pad for the front center console (co-pilot seat for the dog)

I put down a towel over the seat saver to make more comfortable for dog and catch dirty paws - no solution for keeping nose prints of the glass though

Thanks for the info!

I use this Ruff Liner.  covers everything. They also have the same thing in a version that goes all the way to the floor if you have the seats up. Works great! https://www.amazon.com/Ruff-Liners-Large-Extender-Version/dp/B0DSJYZD94?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

Is the bottom, where it extends past the bench, strong enough to hold a German Shepherd? Or, would I need to add upright supports?

I also wish they made them so they cover the backseat headrests and go up the back of the front headrests. I guess I can probably make something for the back of the front headrests myself, if necessary.

It has plastic trim pieces that insert into the window channel then the door covers velcro to the plastic pieces.

The bottom is a hard deck so the part that overhangs is rigid. I have 2 84lb Aussies. No problems. The deck is split into 3 sections sealed inside the fabric. So it folds up into a square when not in use. Has a carry bag it all fits in to.

Is that a typo? I ask, because as a professional dog trainer for 40 years, I've done everything from patrol dogs to service dogs to family dogs, worked with thousands of dogs across all breeds and sizes from Yorkies to Malinois to Mastiffs to Russian Ovcharkas, and I've never encountered any Aussies that heavy. Then again, you could have world record holders. Just curious.

Yes.. its right.. bear is 1.75 inches larger than the standard, he weights 84. Micah is smaller and is only slightly larger than the standard (same parents, different litters) and he weighs 79. He is a little tubby though! Lmao

Wow, Bear is bigger than most Belgian Malligators, and rivals German Shepherds! Sorry, didn't mean to jack my own thread! 🤪
