What are you supposed to do with all the stuff that you have that plugs into a 12 volt Outlet and GM decides not to put it in their trucks are you kidding me. They do realize this is a truck. They're taking the testosterone over truck and putting in estrogen they better wake up

Get with the times.  Everything is USB or OBD powered these days.  12v outlets are dated.  I actually haven't used a 12v outlet in any vehicle in probably 10 years now if not more than that.

GM puts stuff in that their customers want and use.  Not many people use those cigarette light ports anymore.

I only use a usb charger plug in the ports on my '04.  My parents only used it in their Caddy to power a fm transmitter to play stuff from their ipod on long trips.

And if you really need it, put one in.  It's not particularly hard to do.

They stopped putting them in with the 22 refreshed model. I connect my air compressor directly to the battery. A little bit of a pain.

I have 2 or 3 of them in my 2014. I imagine they must of saved a whole 5 bucks per truck de-contenting them with so many other items they have stripped out over the years... It is so easy to see that the people at the top, not only do not drive trucks but seem to have never stepped foot into one with some of the choices they have been making over the last few years.

They didn't just remove them.  They replaced those ports with ports more people buying new trucks use, and use more often.  USB ports.

My 2014 has i think 5 or 6 USB inputs, of course not c as those were not invented yet.

Really no reason to stop giving a plug option in the cab other than because it saved them prob a few coins per truck made. I know i don't say run a laptop in my truck, but if i was say a contractor i would most likely utilize that plug option daily. Like i said this is the result of having non truck owners deciding design input on how they are made.

It is WAY WAY WAY more likely that someone at GM actually researched this, and found that the vast majority of new truck customers want usb ports, both up front and in the back for bigger cabs, and few care about and/or won't buy the truck because it doesn't have a cigarette lighter port.

Good luck trying to pull more than a few amps from the USB ports.  You are wattage limited.
