2.7 Engine Idle Noise

Whenever I get out of my truck with the engine still running, I’m always miffed with how noisy my truck idles.  My last two 5.3s were very quiet in comparison.  Is this just normal operation for the 2.7 Turbomax?  Mines a ‘24 with 11k miles.

That sounds terrible, and is definitely not right.  I've no idea what it could be though.

 

This thread would probably get more traction in the Engine section.

Get it to the dealer, There is a bulletin on that noise, probably a bad rocker arm. number is 25NA037. Don't keep driving it.

it's not normal, i have a 2.7 and at idle you can hardly tell it's running
