DRL's

My 2001 with 36k on it still has the original DRL's.(Actually, I havent had to replace any bulbs yet) Anyone got an average life of these DRL bulbs? Does anyone have a p/n for amber replacements?

I just replaced my left DRL clear bulb number is 3157/4157 I think the part number is the same for Amber but obviously Amber in color.

The driver's side on these is known to go early due to location and heat. Most seem to replace them with ambers. I'd give them a look.

The only problem with using amber bulbs is that if one of them goes out, people could think you have a turn signal on.

 

This is especially true if the other person is driving a mini-van while talking on their cell phone

The Bozo in the mini van talking on the phone is so oblivious to what is going on around them they probably dont even see the truck! Minivan drivers are the suckiest drivers on the planet!

I'm in Canada. I can't remember when the Gov't wanted (forced) this on the Automakers for vehicles destined to Canada.

The DRL's on my 94 Chey were the inside headlights.

I replaced my DRLs with ambers when I first bought my 2000 and never looked back

The bulb number is 4157. For the amber bulbs use 4157ALL. The A is for amber and the LL is for Long Life. They last longer. They look great too!
