Well it was time for a oil change in the Silverado. With all the discussion on here about types of oil to use. So I decided to try Mobil 1. I hope this oil is worth it's price. My god this was expensive. Oh well if it makes my baby last longer it's worth it. Is STP a good filter? I think next time I'm gonna use a Amsoil or K&N.

Well I have some money left over for some beer. Well see you guys later. Cheers

I just use a regular Delco PF59 filter on my rig. As for the price of Mobil 1, Costco and BJ's tend to have the case of 6 for the best price around here. Where are you at in OH by the way?

I use only Castrol or Valvoline synthetics and K&N oil filters.

However, today I am going to try a Mobil 1 oil filter (K&N was out of stock.)

I have used mobil one for over 15 years now and have no complaints. I have 170k on a 89 4x4 burb and engine runns like new and does not use any oil and will do 17mpg on highway under 70 mph with A/C. I also put well over 200k on a toyota using it too with same results (except mileage as it would still do 40 or better on highway after 200k)

I've been using Mobil 1 for years, I love it, not to fond of the price though. I can usually find it at Walmart in the 5 quart jug for around $18. Too bad this thing takes 6.

There was a post on a Caddy site that said that Mobil 1 was the only true synthetic. I know that's not true because Red Line, Royal Purple & the high end Amsoil must be also, but I have read an article about Castrol Syntec being one of the Cracked hydrocarbon molecule oils and not made from a synthetic ester. I also remember that in an Amsoil broshure they spoke about downgrading their lower line of oils to the cheaper type of syn. in order to be more competitive with pricing. I dont know about any of the other brands but I'd like to find out. I'll look for that post.
