Anyone own or ordered an LBZ yet?

Recommended Posts

Right now the 06 DMax is still the LLY with the new 6-speed Allison with mode select. Fourth quarter (first part of Nov, I think). The LBZ's will hit the dealerships. I think it is just like the LB7-LLY conversion. They had to get the rest of the old motors off of the shelf first. The LB7 was the intro motor for 04, until around Dec of 03 when the LLY's showed up.

Ordered mine 9/29 with specifically noting the LBZ. Also picked up the latest 2006 truck catolog and it only shows and references the new LBZ 360 hp 650 torgue motor no puny LLY. I was told early Oct was production which is fine I've already waited 9 months whats a couple more to get exactly what I want.

The GMC website has the new engine and price listed when you build a truck.

I found retail price on GM web site but dealers don't seem to have or want me to get my actual cost after dickering.

With a few simple add ons or computer chip changes you can achive more power than the new upgraded motor will achive. Yes once the engine is available it would be a better starting point for upgrading however we are all aware of what we can really do to a duramax with minimum mods.

AlaskaGMC,

You might get more response regarding upgrading by starting a new thread with an appropriate title. This thread is about ordering or taking delivery of an '06 Duramax diesel with the LBZ engine. :nopity:

Sorry I didnt meant to step on anyones toes. I was more meaning that the numbers of the new engine are impressive but can be achived now. Some internal parts are different though and if thats what you are after then great.

Again Hiker, sorry but I wasnt wanting to talk so much about mods.
