Instrument Panel Bulbs

I've lost the instrument panel bulb (blew out) behind my volt meter, how hard is it to change these? Kind of pissed me off, being a 2004 model and all.

Tell me about it, the bulbs blow like crazy on these trucks. Next will be your radio and climate control center bulbs.

Doesn't happen often with the newer trucks. Warranty should cover it, but you'll lose the instrument cluster for a few days if the dealer has to send it off. The bulbs are soldered in, hence, the rarity of their going out. Bummer that it happened to you.

 

Removing the old bulb and soldering in a new one is very easy, but you need familiarity with soldering, access to a replacement bulb, and knowledge how to get into the instrument cluster.

I wish there wes more information on the bulbs themselves. The bulb is easy enough, it's getting the right one. The radio for instance has 2 different sizes in it. I bet taking it in they replace the cluster, porbably have a new one programmed with your mileage and swap them when they get it back from being programmed.

 

Does anybody have more detailed information on the bulbs?
