teanny temp gauge

I'm kinda new to the GM thing. I purchased a Tahoe in October.

Can I add the factory tranny temp gauge to my 2000 Tahoe? - Like the one I saw in a new body style 3/4 ton suburban.

I'm curious what's involved in doing that.

Thanks,

Eric

Welcome to the site. While the search can be a useful feature, don't feel like you have to use it. I see too many forums where several people will jump all over someone, telling them to use the search. They could have just used that time to answer the persons question, or not reply at all if they didn't know the answer.

Back to your question, yes, you can add an aftermarket gauge only (that looks like the factory guage) to your existing cluster. There is some disassembly and soldering involved though. Stylinconcepts.com sells them. I'm not sure of all the years that they sell them for though.

An extremely easier way is to get a new cluster, have the mileage and hours transfered, remove and reinstall. You can also get a decal and transfer the mileage over onto it. I think it goes in your door jamb.

I swapped mine out to a Denali cluster and I went with having the new cluster programmed to the mileage and hours of my old one.

Contact Jason, at JPCustoms.com, he can give you all the info you need.

Thank you. I did do some searching around. I was told by someone that I need to replace the whole gauge cluster. I'm glad to see that's not the case. I'm not afraid of a little solder. I need to replace a few bulbs anyway. I'm thinking about going LED - just for fun. Nice project while the kids are napping.

I'm about to look at those places you said to check out.

Thanks again,

Eric
