Paint Overspray

Alright, I washed my truck yesterday and I noticed that there was either white or silver paint overspray from what it looks like all over my truck. It looks like a very fine mist of paint covered my entire truck. I can't really pin it on anybody casue it's not on any other cars at my apartment or where I work, so I guess it happened some other time. Anyway, is there any way, short of going to a professional, to get rid of this.

You could try the clay bar method. I've talked to some guys that this has worked for to remove over-spray. Do a search on it and you'll get a lot of insight.

if you have a good layer of carnuba wax built up. you can use denatured alcohol (sp) or armorall to remove the wax and anything on top of it. (works like a claybar without rubbing off paint)

 

this will make you paint look like sXXX because you will have removed all the wax on top of the clear that makes it look shiny and pretty. thats fixed by re apply wax though.

 

thats how they do thoes realy neat tricks on carwax comercials. were they burn it and do all kinds of nasty stuff. they dump new liquid wax on it(disolved in alchohol or other wax disolving solution) and wipe up the old wax and put down new wax at the same time instant cleanup.

Friend of mine works in chemical plant and while repainting the contracter oversprayed alot of the trucks out there. the company gave them all clay bars and it worked. he said its happened a couple of times and they always just send them a clay bar.

Polishing compund will take it off. Hand rub it and re-wax.

Clay bar! It won't harm your paint and will clean crap off that you didn't know you had. It does strip all the wax off so you need to follow up with a good coat of your favorite wax.
