Setting the GMC aside...I have a truck project I'm going to do.

Back in Iceland and Germany, my father had a Nissan Navara. Although, very similar to the Frontier, but rather a TDI Diesel brother. I am trying to reconstruct the Navara as a memorial for my father.

Here are few pictures of the one we owned

I am hoping I can find a Double-Cab/Crew cab Frontier like this and then find a TDI Diesel engine that can fit and allow Air Conditioning (didn't have A/C in the Navara we had)

Anyone know how I could start off? Like how much money I would need, whether to go into junkyards or buy it used, etc..

I don't know anything about Torque, but it was a 135 (I think) Horsepower Inline 4 cylinder. I don't know the size or anything else about it. I also know it had an air filter mounted on top of the engine, with the hoodscoop directly flowing air to the filter. Here is an image (not mine) of what it supposedly looked like, and what I want it to look like.

Any basics on what I could do start? Like finding out what 5 speed manual TDI motor w/4WD capability I should look for that will fit in a Frontier's engine compartment?

Edit:

Looked around a little bit more and found out that the TDI in our earlier Navara was a 3.2 Liter. Now, this makes things clearer.

3.2-liter I-4 TDI Diesel engine.

A diesel conversion is very extensive, but people do it. I would consult with those that do. I know AEV does diesel conversions in Jeeps and I asume that there are others out there that do what you want done. Let your fingers do the walking and you will find someone who can be of assistance.

Best of luck with your project, that is a sharp truck you posted!

I figured it could get very complex doing this, but I know for sure that a lot of money will need to be around when I get to it. Thanks for the tip, I'll look around.

Thanks. I'm really hoping I can get this done.
