Might be selling my truck. Looked at both Kelly Blue Book & NADA to see what it might be worth and they were quite aways apart. KBB- $10,900 NADA-$13,725 So how do I know what I should ask for it? Specs are as follows...2000 GMC Sierra, 5.3, 4x4, SLE, Ext cab 4 dr, BFG TA KO, Line X Bed Liner, Black diamond plate bed caps and black diamond plate tool box, tow hitch, 95,000 miles, very clean runs great So what does everyone think? What do you think I should ask for it?

FYI,

I just sold my 2000 GMC Sierra SLE Ext Cab 3-door Z71 5.3 liter, sstl nerf bars, sstl bed rails, Line-X spray in bedliner, Access tonneau cover, 6-way power driver and pass cloth bucket seats, 90,000 miles. MINT cond (no scratches or door dings) Black ext, Pewter Interior.

Most dealers only wanted to give me 9000-9500 for it. I refused to trade it in for that. I ended up selling it to my brother for $12,250.

I was going to suggest 12,500 as a starting point and take offers?

Yeah my thinking is like yours, I was thinking the $12,500 area and wait and see what happens. Good idea about autotrader.com I will go there in a minute. Anyone on here ever used Craigslist.com? I have heard pretty good things about that site.

Depending on where you live Craigslist tends to attract bargain hunters. However, I have also found selling things on Craigslist that the folks tend to be more reliable and curtious. Having waited for many no-shows when selling a vehicle I have a simple policy: I leave a half hour after the scheduled showing if the person does not contact me.

You need to comp the vehicle. See what others are SELLING for in your area. Each market is different. NADA is slightly more realistic on their used vehicle prices. Dealers use them more to value trade-ins and such.

I just had a similar experience between Kelly and NADA with Kelly quite a ways under NADA. I thought I'd give the dealer a shot, though I knew in advance thjis probably wouldn't work. He wouldn't even consider NADA wholesale! I was kinda surprised at that, so did not do the trade. Taught me something that the blue book places aren't always on the money either. Course, this dealer had many problems involving the 'disappearing deal' and the sale that went away overnight, so I bought elsewhere. Cars.com has a nationwide site that allows you half a dozen pictures with an option to run until it sells. Just got a lead from there. Guy is very excited. Got my fingers crossed.

Just to give you an idea of what they are going for- Just bought one, its a 2000 1500 ext. cab. 3 door, LS, with all the goodies you can get on an LS. Trailer pkg., towing, skid plates,4x4, new tires, brakes and the list goes on. 107,000 miles. Paid 7000 for it. Had 2 offers from dealerships to buy it. One was 7500.00 and the other was 9000.00. A truck like yours would probably go for about 8-9000 here in Michigan at least. good luck
