Well after waiting about 9 weeks my 2007 Nbs Silverado ltz 4x4 crew cab is in!!!!. The aftermarket stereo goes in on friday, should have it by saturday afternoon. Hopefully my dealer has all my accessories waiting to be put on, no backorder stuff i hope. Anyways my girl drove by the dealership and said it was in, what a feeling after waiting 9 weeks to see it sitting there!!. i drove it briefly, and thats an even better feeling!!! Dont you guys just love the new truck smell???

Dont you guys just love the new truck smell???

No. That"new truck smell" in my '06 Z71 made me sick for a while. Seriously. It was a strong rubbery smell, maybe some glue or something they used for assembly. Anyway, I got a headache after driving for a while, especially in warm weather with A/C off.

Somewhere I read that this may not be very good for one's health.

No. That"new truck smell" in my '06 Z71 made me sick for a while. Seriously. It was a strong rubbery smell, maybe some glue or something they used for assembly. Anyway, I got a headache after driving for a while, especially in warm weather with A/C off.

Somewhere I read that this may not be very good for one's health.

Warm weather with the AC off? Try using those buttons on your armrest, some of them open the windows for you. lol Or were you trying to catch a buzz by sniffing the glue?

Me too, I purposely close my sunroof and windows every night in the garage to prolong the "new car" smell. LOL

I personally would never buy brand new for a few reasons, but the biggest is its a poor investment unleass you actually have a money tree growing on you property somewhere. I could afford it I just can't justify it. But to each their own, and I have before. As far as the new car smell, hate it, and I've even read on the net as of late it may be carcinogenic to some degree, however in this day and age what isn't.....

I personally would never buy brand new for a few reasons, but the biggest is its a poor investment unleass you actually have a money tree growing on you property somewhere. I could afford it I just can't justify it. But to each their own, and I have before. As far as the new car smell, hate it, and I've even read on the net as of late it may be carcinogenic to some degree, however in this day and age what isn't.....

That is not always true, not with the rebate wars that have been going on, i looked at trucks just like mine except a year older and 22,000 miles on it and decided that spending a extra 1,500 bucks was worth 22,000 miles less and a truck that i know for a fact was not abused and had better options when it came to financing the loan! People who say buying new is a bad move have not investigated enough, there are right times and wrong times to look at new cars or trucks, and as long as you can remain patient the right new one will come along and will be a 100% better buy then any used rig on the market!

They are stock size replacements, Hercules Terra Trac A/T's with the blue lettering on the inside, I like the black wall. I believe Hercules is actually the same brand as cooper tires if that helps....

In addition to this, I put quite a bit of value into knowing I have owned it and cared for it from day one. I am VERY meticulous in how I care for my vehicles and I am pretty sure 99% of the people out there do not meet my standards for vehicle care, both mechanically and cosmetically. This may sound arrogant, but it is the reason I have sold my last 2 trucks to either a good friend or my brother. They see/know how I take care of my stuff and they want it when I am ready to buy new. I drive my trucks for 7-10 years, so I am not too concerned about "initial depreciation". Also, I pay little to no interest on my vehicle loans. My 2000 was paid for within 1 year, my wife's 2004 Impala was paid for within 2 years and I only borrowed $18K on my 2007 at 0% for 36 months. So the money I save on interest I feel I can buy new and not risk buying someone else's junk.

Those are all very valid points and I don't mean that people should only look at used, but when it comes to most chevy trucks the owners are normally like most of the people on this board and take exceptional care of them, hence buying used carefully can save you a ton of money. With that said I've bought brand vehicles before at very very good pricing as a teir 1 supplier that I work for, however I just think buying new is not the best way to go for all people and budgets. On the flip side sometimes there is nothing like owning something brand new and taking pride in ownership. So again to each his/her own. By the way I love your new trucks.... For me it just came down to buying a truck 3 years old for less than half of new, having it carefully inspected, doing my due dilligence and getting a truck which I love.
