Of the fullsize trucks, the Tundra is only selling more than the Titan. Percentagge makes them look better than they are. Or how bad they were... If they sold 1 last year and 2 this year it is a 100% increase, but they still only sold 2.

Right now GM/Ford are still way on top based on total numbers. But if this trend continues, it won't be long before Toyota catches up.

No I still believe toyota has a long way to go before they catch up. I have only seen 3 around here, while I have seen too many NBS Silverados/Sierras to count. There just aren't many people willing to give up looks and pay more doing it.

Why, i have seen nothing but petty non serious complaints with the gmt-900's vs the toyota's which have already blown several engines and even more transmissions. It's clear the better truck is the Chevy and it's also clear that all that hp which Toyota fanbois geek out about is causing serious problems with the tundra. Those 6 speed trans cost over 7,000 dollars from Toyota, have fun replacing that after the warranty expires which by the way they are not extending for trans problems only the cam shaft issue's. Some people have not even passed 500 miles before their tranny getting stuck in nothing but 4th gear, really can someone please explain to me how thats a quality product?

Maybe people are believing all the bashing Toyota has been doing of the other makers?!? Those commercials just pi$$ me off. The new Ford commercials aren't much better.

I wonder if these people that are buying the Tundra are even test driving anything else. Everyone I know (most of whom aren't brand biased) liked the Chevy/GMC and the Ford over the Tundra in test drives.

The part that's comical is you see people on this site more pissed off because they are getting 13mpg because of their led foot when they think they should always get the 16 the sticker says, then a toyota customer that just had his 500 mile truck drop it's trans or blow it's engine to pieces!

Highly Believeable. The tundra is a cheaply put together product IMO. That is why the tundra has to make everything so big. I got most of the solid stuff here. I knew that I would never buy a toyota b/c my parents told me it would never pay off in the long run. Can you tell I spent entirely too much time hanging around the house?

I see more and more of those trucks driving around here every day. I wouldn't under estimate Toyota. There are plenty of folks more than willing to buy a Toyota based on the reputation of Toyota Reliability and Quality that has been built over the years. I doubt any of those folks have even heard of the issues current tundra drivers are having. They just know what they see on TV and what all their friends say; which is that their Toyota car/truck runs greats, has no issues, great fit/finish, etc. While their GM/Ford counter parts just say the opposite. Let alone from what they've experienced first hand.

Sure, GM has a better quality truck now - but you can't recover a bad reputation from decades of building a poor quality product over night. GM has a long way to go to fix their reputation, and Toyota has a long way to go to catch up to GM in sales. But as far as Toyota is concerned, the only place they can from here is UP. And GM is just trying to stay on top.

And with that said, I have no intentions of buying a Toyota now or in the foreseeable future.

I haven't seen any new Tindras around here yet, and a whole fleet of the Chevy/GMC's. Heck, I haven't even seen a new Tindra in person, only pics. I dunno if thats because this is the south or what. Maybe people are just smarter around here.

I see plenty of new Tundras running around my neighborhood, just see a lot more NBS Chevy/GMC's. I gave a serious at the new Tundra and really liked their truck. In my case would be just as happy with either product. In the end, I bought the Silverado because the area Toyota dealers wanted to play games while my Chevy dealer treated me like they want my business. Personally see the Silverado as just as capable meeting my needs at a lot less money.

Exactly, some people just can't think for themselves anymore. They are so gullible, they buy into every piece of advertising they see or hear.

I've been seeing more and more Tundras here lately and you know the funny part? It's mostly women driving them. I really think the looks of the Chevys are turning people off a bit. I still think the lines are too boxy for my taste.

if you're reading this right now you represent the small minority of truck buyers that seriously research before a purchase. meanwhile, the rest out there base decisions on simple this like horsepower, towing, gas mileage & brand reputation. for most, Toyota = quality & reliability. so look for toyota's numbers to continue climbing..
